  1. I've caught a lip before. Also caught this dandy on a 65 pointer from a small pond.
  2. Link is no good
  3. I'll fish dusk till dawn if the option is on the table. There is usually a middle of the night lull though. The best bite is typically dusk until around 1am, then starts up again around 4am until whenever they decide the sun is getting too high in the morning. I would absolutely give it a try and honestly wouldn't worry about the pontoons. One of the lakes I used to night fish a lot was really similar, private, lots of docks, about 100 acres with clear water, pontoons and small personal craft "stirring the lake" as I call it when they all drive slow laps around the lake following each other. Fishing was almost always excellent, just had to have our lights on.
  4. I completely understand how people could think it's boring. Just like I don't enjoy going out to a club or to the casino, lots of people don't like going out on the boat or walking a pond bank. Different things make different people tick.
  5. Took the boys to the zoo last Sunday. Pretty sure we saw a penguin that was in time out. These two stood like this for the entire 5 minutes or so that we were standing there with the back one never looking away from the wall.
  6. This applies to a lot of people in Kansas as well, and it drives me insane!
  7. Welcome!
  8. My wife and I work different schedules, so I don't have to lie about it, she knows how much I fish.
  9. Yes, it was at Table Rock the third week of April this year.
  10. Driving the Jeep at Scheel's, such a ham for the camera.
  11. I just got through a similar ordeal except my seller never shipped and never responded to anything. I bought my wife a KitchenAide mixer for our anniversary and it never showed and the seller won't respond. I paid with Paypal and had no problems getting my money refunded after I opened a claim. Hopefully it works out for you as well.

There's much more efficient ways to look at half naked women if that's what you're after.
  13. Half the fun of a Ned rig is the accidental catches. My dad and I got out on Monday to chase some walleye and saugeye. Caught a bunch, just no keepers like he was hoping. I was having fun smacking them on spoons though.
  14. No, similar though, they're the slightly larger cousin of the white perch.
  15. La Cygne was a grind but still pretty good yesterday. Topwater and then dragging plastic did the trick but they really are keyed on certain types of areas. We caught a couple dozen bass, these were just the 4 over 18" fish we weighed.
  16. Did you feel a bite or did you just reel in half a Senko? If you just reeled it in like that, I'd guess it actually happened while the bait was skipping back and hit a corner and cut in half or something. I've caught more than one snapping turtle on a senko so that suggestion isn't unimaginable either.
  17. Ideally, I'll have 2-4 rods out, because that means I'm dialed in, but usually it's more like 10. Our lakes don't have big schools of bass or good offshore structure to fish, so most of my fishing is comprised of junk fishing and having to be prepared for whatever I may encounter.
  18. No more than 6 rods, a Cabela's bag that holds up to 6 3700 Planos, and a gallon bag or two of plastics.
  19. Someone needs to tell these poor fish I just lucky catching them on mono on my spinning gear since there's no way I should have been able to feel their light bites in the cold water. Seriously, the whole mono isn't sensitive enough thing is silly. That's all there was for a long time and lots of bass were caught on way less advanced gear than what we have now. You can get a good higher end mono like Sunline Defier Armilio and it will handle as good and probably better than fluoro and if you can tell a difference in sensitivity, you're a better man than I am.
  20. Unless you just really want to spend the extra money or you need all the depth you can get, there's no need for fluorocarbon for cranking. Big Game or Pline CXX does a great job for cranking for way less money.
  21. I sold all my newer Shimanos, but kept all my Curado, Chronarch, and Calcutta B series, if that says anything.
  22. That's often not enough to pull one of these back out of a log jam.
  23. I'm sure there is a bunch of Forest Lakes out there (I know of 2 in my area), so which state is the one you're going to so maybe someone can help you out?
  24. No, I use a headlamp for tying knots and unhooking fish and a spotlight for navigating. Best is to use as little lights as possible and let your eyes adjust. Use your eyes and your ears as much as you can during your cast, then let feel take over during the retrieve. You know what a bite feels like during the daylight right? It feels the same in the dark
