  1. Unfortunately didn't get the video from our whole day, my power cord quit working for some reason so my camera only went as far as the battery would take it. Thankfully did get a couple good ones we got in the morning. Turn your volume down, loud squeals ahead.
  2. The smaller version seems to walk almost in place. It makes very little disturbance, I think it almost looks more like a bug on the surface than a fish. The bigger one does work, but I like the Bubble Walker once I get to a bigger bait.
  3. The only scent I use is garlic in JJ's, but I'm not using it for the scent.
  4. The 120 is barely a glide bait, it's so small that it is very difficult to work properly. The 168 is much better if you're using it as a glide bait with intermittent pauses. I personally like the Shine Glide much better than the S-Waver, even the little size Shine Glide has a very nice glide and is only a 5" bait.
  5. This is a completely different type of bait. If the OP is fishing targets, a fast moving bait probably not going to be a good option. Switch to braid, that's going to make the biggest difference in the number of fish you hook on a frog.
  6. They're a very nice looking rod. I'd love to buy one for my 4 year old but I'll have to wait until he gets a little more careful with them before he graduates past the Ugly Stick Lite.
  7. Are you positive it was a bass? I tried really hard to get a big crusier to bite last month until I got a better look at it and saw the rounded tail and sad, lookdown face ending in rubbery lips. In the stained water with the glare that big drum looked a lot like a big slow moving bass though.
  8. It's really going to depend on a lot of things; water temp, time of year, rain amounts, ect. In my experience, rain water running into a typically clear body of water will make the fishing much better as it stains the water and makes the fish much less wary.

It's an Eagle Claw 2706. They're nasty sharp and very strong.
  10. I own more composite reels than I do metal anymore. I'm just reeling in a fish, not winching a truck out of the mud. Most of the moving of the fish is done with the rod anyways, the reel is just taking up the slack line.
  11. I was skeptical about this story, makes more sense that he picked it up off the water. Rattlers are good swimmers, not so much in the tree climbing department though due to their thick, heavy built bodies.
  12. Fishing all day is hard work.
  13. Had the first run in with a flathead that there's been since winter time on Monday. Gave Lake all the fight he could handle.
  14. I made some of my bladed jigs for a buddy just so he could fish them in the salt and he said they worked great.
  15. I don't like the egg sack, they sink very slowly, little to no action on the sink. One of the few BBB that I'm not a fan of.
  16. I use both. Come fish some zebra mussel covered docks or trees with tungsten bullet weights and see if you don't wish if you had some lead with you I like tungsten for flipping in grass or when I'm using larger size weights and the size difference is really noticeable.
  17. The smaller Boss pop walks great and just seems to be a fish magnet, the KVD not so much, it's more of a straight popper or chugger. My popper selection is pretty simple after trying many of them. I have the smaller sized Boss Pop for my smaller bait, a River2Sea Bubble Walker 80 for my bigger profile walking popper, a Storm Chug Bug for a more of a finesse walking popper because of the thin profile and small cup, and the rarely talked about and increasingly hard to find Norman's Top Dollar that is just a monster when they're keyed on bluegills or shad.
  18. By the time my bait hits the water, I've already switched hands and I'm ready to set the hook with my thumb on the spool. I can pitch to open targets left handed, but I'm not threading the needle or skipping left handed.
  19. I use 3 braids, KastKing Super Power, Seaguar Smackdown, and Seaguar Flipping Braid. For what you're wanting to do, I'd suggest going with either the Smackdown or Flipping depending on what lb test you want.

That big hook is great until it grabs a hold of something other than a fish.
  21. Glad she was alright. Hopefully it doesn't scare her from wanting to be in the boat and fish with you. I've always let my oldest in the front with me. Personally would rather him be close to me so if he does fall I can reach him faster. He's almost fallen out a few times, I'm sure he'll probably do it eventually but he wears a lifejacket 100% of the time so I'll end up with a similar video out of the deal I'd guess.
  22. This 100%. I will remove the hook every time. With a little practice and some careful plier work, a gut hooked fish is easily freed and has a much better chance than it does with a hook in it's throat. I removed probably a 1/2oz tube head from the throat of a fish that someone had left in a fish on Monday. The hook came out super easy and barely had any rust on it, who knows how long that fish would have had to live with it, or how long it would have taken it to starve with it. I'd rather remove the hook and have them die on my right then so I can give them to someone to eat than let them slowly starve because they can't eat anything.
