  1. Seaguar Tatsu if I'm fishing fluoro. Best I've ever used and it isn't even close, of course it comes with a steep price tag but I only use fluoro on a few rods. Seaguar Flippin Fluoro is the strongest, most abrasion resistant I've used and it's not unruly like I expected, just wish it came in 15lb also. Pretty excited to try out the Finesse Fluoro.
  2. The KVD cranking rods float with a 200E5 Curado attached, thankfully.
  3. I've had good luck with the BPS Titanium 8 reel, one of the only BPS reels I've owned that I actually liked. It bombs frogs out there and burns them back in when I need to.
  4. I use an Okuma Cerros 273 and have for a few years now with no issues.
  5. Shop around a bit and you can find a Supreme XT for about the same price as the Supreme if you're going to pay full price for it. I have several Presidents, but I prefer something faster for a traditionally deep water presentation like drop shotting.
  6. I fish one in outlet current pretty often. You have to understand how the current works to make it effective but I've found that one drifting in the current seams or allowed to swirl in back eddies can be a killer.
  7. The day before if I know what I'm going to be fishing for sure. Some of the lakes I fish vary a lot in water color so I'll wait to get there before deciding what color/bait to use.
  8. I fish bladed jigs far more than the other two. Spinnerbaits get quite a bit of use still, swim jigs I'd be surprised if I caught 2 dozen fish on them all year. For me, I start with bladed jigs unless there's lots of wood (snags), or stringy grass (tangles the blade). I mostly fish them very slowly, just fast enough to get the blade thumping. Bites are often just the blade stops vibrating. Spinnerbaits get the nod in clear water, or fishing lots of wood. Swim jigs I mainly fish around heavy grass, but in those situations I'll often reach for a frog or punching rod first.
  9. Been catching a lot of big white bass lately, with a few of their bigger cousins mixed in.
  10. I'd have a wart in the mix for sure. Shakyhead can be good when they're being tough.

  14. I fish topwater all day long. I fish shallow even when it's hot outside. I sold my Shimano reels to buy Pfluegars.
  15. I think the smallersizes might be too small to get the keeper and hook set in such a tiny piece of lead. I wish they had the smaller sizes or multiple 1/16oz sizes
  16. The Tungsten 2 Tap has been one of my producing baits all winter and it continued to be Thursday.
  17. I'm a big fan of the Okuma rods and reels. The TCS Matt Daddy has been a great rod for me for flipping weeds. I feel like you're paying a lot extra for a name with G Loomis.
  18. La Cygne was tough today but I was really limited where I could fish. I'd look for a small lake with lots of fish. Melvern is going to be really cold still.
  19. Negative. Nothing replaces the beat up baits that have that mojo.
  20. Happy birthday Jeff! Hope you have a good one and don't have too much fun though!
  21. They're not the prettiest, but I'm confident they'll catch me some fish.
  22. This one is the particular one that has been so good for me. It's a 2 tap.
