  1. I've done decent with it but with it not really doing anything different than my usual beaver style baits, I probably wouldn't buy them again.
  2. Academy sells some that float and glow in the dark. The BPS by me carries some Rapala ones. I have a pair but haven't ever tested if they float or not. I know the Academy ones float because they're one of the things I recovered after I flipped my yak.
  3. 4" Yamamoto single tail grub, smoke no flake. Put it on a jighead, cast it out, reel it slow. It's deadly and SUPER boring to fish, but it catches the fire out of them when they're eating small baitfish and ignoring more aggressive presentations.
  4. The weights listed are the weights the rod will perform best with. You can go a bit above or below and be okay, just be careful while doing it. Using more of a lob cast instead of hard snap cast will be easier on your rod.
  5. It will work, but I'd much rather use Gliss for what you're trying to do.
  6. I use a 6' 6" MH/F Avid X casting rod, a Pflueger Supreme XT, with 30lb braid.
  7. Dang that sucks. I'll do some checking on Craigslist while I'm at work. If he has a list or something have him send it to me so I have an idea what to look for.
  8. I'd like to see a Magnum Menace. Something like a thick 5" or 6" body with bigger flappers. I bet it would be an awesome flipping and punching bait.
  9. It's a green sunfish. They go by many names, warmouth and black perch being a couple common ones, but green sunfish is the correct name.
  10. I second that suggestion. I've had some great days on Stockton in October.
  11. Depending on what cover and structure you're around (I'm assuming lots of vegetation from my limited Florida fishing experience), braid with a leader should serve you well.
  12. Sounds like a very nice fish. It's impossible to guess a weight without a girth though. A few years ago I had a 24.5X14 fish that only went 7.5, then a couple months later I caught a 22x17 fish that went 7 3/4. If you want to get the girth you can always measure with a piece of line and cut it to length and measure when you get home.
  13. 6' 2" M/XF Avid for when I really want to make a bait cut. 6' 8" M/F Ethos Micro for my regular jerkbait rod I just added a 6' 3" M/MF Fenwick Elite Tech smallmouth bass rod that I'm excited to try. I think it's going to be a good one during the winter when I want a little less action on the bait.
  14. I rarely fish a floater but I've had good success letting them rise like that when I do fish them. I think it looks like a baitfish hurrying to the surface to try to escape a fish and triggers a reaction strike.
  15. Pomme for musky. I'll be at Table Rock Monday-Wednesday next week. It's usually tough this time of year but dad wants to go and we have free lodging there so that's where we're going.
  16. Welcome!
  17. I ordered mine a long time ago but other things I ordered are going to be on backorder for at least another month so I'll be waiting awhile unless I decide to pay shipping, which I very well might. It's a great looking bait and I know of some good places for big shad baits that are going to start getting good as the water cools off.
