R2S Bubble Popper and Walker
The bubble walker is a big, fat popper, not a thin walking bait like the name suggests. It looks and acts nothing like a gunfish or Sammy.

R2S Bubble Popper and Walker
The bubble walker is completely different from a Sammy. Most all the fish in this video are on a Bubble Walker 80, to give a little idea how it works.

BPS Stick-O's?.......Nope
I've had good luck with the 3" on a Ned rig jighead. The results are far from a Ned rig with a Zman bait, but they still work. I wouldn't both T rigging a bait that tiny weightless. Might put them on a Slider head though. GY Senkos are nearly $9 a pack around here, I'm not paying that to catch 1 or 2 fish per bait.

Looking for a Fishing Friend
Hey Chuck. We have lots of active members in the KC area. I'm not sure how many fly fishermen we have though. I have a fly rod that I fish for bluegills and bass with occasionally, but am in no stretch of the imagination fit to be teaching anyone else how to do it. Follow along here, it's where most of the KC area members post at.

How to fish a Wacky Rig on a Baitcaster?
Especially with a baitcaster and it results in a big backlash.

~The Road to the Super Bowl 2016 & 2017~
Jack Stack is my favorite of the bigger names, and one of my overall favorites. I worked in downtown KC and lived on the outskirts, so I got to try lots of different places, and I love BBQ so I tried a lot of them. My favorite was the now closed Smoking Babe's, best brisket and cheesy corn anywhere, almost cried when it closed down. I really like Jone's BBQ in KCK, Wyandotte BBQ, both have great burnt ends and Jone's uses big chunks of burnt ends in their beans. RJ's BBQ in Mission is really good. My least favorite of them all is Arthur Bryant's. Expensive and didn't like the flavor of the meat or the sauce, and their fries were super greasy.

Topwater rod choice ?
I have also become a fan of braid for WTD topwaters and poppers. It doesn't tangle like I thought it would, and really allows me to just reel into a strike. I don't use a leader however. Horrible for double prop baits though.

Not sure what I did wrong. Bass died!
Fishing is a blood sport. I don't eat any fish I catch, yet I'm sure I'm responsible for the deaths of dozens of fish. I know I had one die on me fishing a small lake in my kayak 2 weeks ago. Wasn't hooked deep, wasn't bleeding, hook came out like normal and it swam off fine. 5 minutes later it was on it's side doing the death dance. The only bass I ever got mounted didn't make it because it was hooked deep. It happens from time to time, nothing you can do about it. Best thing is to have someone on standby to take a fish when they don't make it, at least they don't go to waste then.

If you mean at Critzer, no, just a gravel landing area for small boats.

Bad thing is I can go to the best BBQ joint in town and order all the food I can eat for less than the price of parking.

Thinking outside the box for pressured lakes
I used to fish a heavily pressured, clear water lake often. Most everyone resorted to small, natural looking finesse presentations. I did the same but, as would be expected, experienced the same results as everyone else. Then I went the opposite direction and started fishing big swimbaits. I was shocked not only by the number of fish I'd catch and see, but also by how many big fish I would see. It wasn't uncommon to see as many big fish in a single day of fishing a swimbait as I'd see in a year of fishing the standard baits for the lake. It's safe to say, there's not many swimbaiters in NE KS, and I'm just fine with that.

new president xt casting
Seems the righty is the only thing going to be available at first. A lot of times the left had versions will come out later on. I have mine on preorder right now. Very excited to actually get my hands on it.

Nighttime chatter
Bladed jigs are a terrific night bait. The bulky profile and strong vibration just calls them in it seems.

Topwater rod choice ?
Of that list, I'd choose the 6' 8" MH/XF for what you're using it for.

Baitfish lifecycle
Take a picture and someone can probably ID them. If you have bass, you have baitfish, even if that means bass on bass violence. Small bluegill, crappie, and perch can also be the primary baitfish in a body of water. Bass don't have to have a schooling, pelagic baitfish available to thrive.

Savage gear mega swimbait!! 1.5 pounds!
It looks amazing in the water, but it's bigger than a lot of bass I catch on swimbaits.

When do you fish tubes?
I don't fish them often enough. Used to be one of my go to baits, but I've strayed a bit with the advent of the beaver style bait that catches fish so well and I have a better hookup ratio with them. One place the tube always gets the nod over the beaver is in dirty water. The extra bulk and the ability to easily add a rattle makes it a no brainer for me. Of course, they're an easy decision when I'm fishing smallmouth too. They just go together for some reason.

- Who fishes big swimbaits and glide baits?
I enjoy fishing the big baits even though our bass mostly run small. Anyone who thinks you can't catch dinks on big swimbaits, I've got a few pages worth of pictures of 2 pound and smaller bass that whacked baits half their size. I've caught more bass on the MS Slammer than anything else, probably because our bass eat a lot of terrestrials during the warmer months. Matt Allen is a great teacher on how to fish, and catch fish, on big baits. Sometimes, when I'm in a dry spell with big bait fish, I'll watch his videos because they get my confidence back up in them, and confidence to keep throwing them is huge with swimbaits.- Who was the most help teaching you how to fish for bass?
My dad taught me the fundamentals, like casting and tying a knot. We moved to the area I grew up in and found a semi-private lake that my dad bought the family memberships to when I was 9. When I was 12 or 13, I bought an old used 2 man from a dock owner for $50 with whatever money I could make doing odd jobs for anyone. Once I got that boat, I lived on the water every second I had. I learned everything through trial and error (mostly error for the first several years). I bought my first bass boat when I turned 16 and got smacked in the face with the realization that big lakes were way harder than my 30 acre lake I'd basically lived on. I started fishing in an adult club when I was 16 and learned a lot by watching the guys I was fishing with. I learned some from reading BASSMASTER and watching the few fishing shows that were on TV then. I learned some from the fishing buddies I made along the way. Mostly, I learned from hours and days and years on the water, just trying to learn what does and doesn't work.- Best Main-Line Fluorocarbon for baitcaster?
Berkley Big Game is great line without breaking the bank. If you want to stick with fluorocarbon that isn't too expensive, I've had good luck with Seaguar Red Label. If you actually want the best like the title states, Seaguar Tatsu is the best of all the fluoros I've tried and it isn't even close.- Your favourite smallmouth cranks
SK KVD 1.0, #5 Shad Rap, and the Duo Realis 48SR.- Help to guesstimate bass weight
3 pounds on the nose. Dragging a worm or jig is my favorite retrieve. When it gets tough I like to slow down and "count rocks". - Who fishes big swimbaits and glide baits?
