Buzzbait strikes
Sometimes they just miss. I had what might have been the biggest bass I've had a shot at in KS miss a buzzbait this past Thursday. I saw the whole fish and it blasted it, which was the complete opposite of all the rest of the fish I caught on it that barely made a ripple.

Come with me out to Linn Valley and I will put you on more big bluegill and green sunfish than you know what to do with.

How often and how do you clean your boats livewell?
Just where there could be water, the prop and such. It's about 10/1.

Lost my Pop Max! story and advice.
Your line goes in the center of the corkscrew and you followthe line down to the bait when it's under water. When it's a bait in the trees I just tangle the hooks in the corkscrew and pull. If I can't get the hooks I start swinging and hope the branch isn't too strong.

Lost my Pop Max! story and advice.
That's the exact one I have in the 18' version. When it gets really cold, I'll go lure hunting, just cruising the shorelines looking in the trees and along the shoreline. My best day ever was actually while I was fishing early in the season at Table Rock. I found a Megabass Vision 110 Magnum, a LC 100 pointer, 2 LC 100DD pointers, a LC 78 DD pointer, a pre-rap wart, 2 War Eagle spinnerbaits, a SK KVD spinnerbait, and a few less expensive baits. I actually caught most of my fish that weekend on the MB until the bill fell off.

The new place!
The invitation is always out there to any BR member that wants to spend some time on the water with me learning how bad the fishing really is in Kansas I've only had a few take me up on it so far and I don't think it's impressed anyone too much yet.

Shimano Curado 70/71 - Is It Worth It?
I have a 70XG that I bought to go along with several 200I series. If I had the option, I'd switch them all out to the 70 series.

Please recommend me some Glide Baits
The Savage Gear Shine Glide 180 is a nice bait. I've caught more fish on a Deps Slide Swimmer 175 than any other. Recently bought one of the new Livingston Lures B Vipers and really like the profile and glide of the thing. Hasn't gotten much use yet but I could see it really producing well.

Lost my Pop Max! story and advice.
Get a telescoping lure retriever. I have one and get all kinds of baits that guys like yourself leave in trees, including at least one Megabass and over a dozen Lucky Craft. They run about $40, but I've pulled well over $100 worth of baits out of the trees in a single trip with it (other peoples baits, not my own), so it's paid for itself many times over.

First Time Catching a Seagull, What About You?
I'd almost forgotten about this guy. I think it was a grebe of some sort? It dove under as soon as my bait landed by it and was hooked before I even realized it was chasing my bait. Thankfully he was cooperative and easily unhooked.

Channel catfish strategy
This is the rig I use to catch lots of channel cats with. I move it very slowly, similar to fishing a weightless T rig for bass. In a pond, you can cast one bait out and let it sit while you're working the other in likely areas. I've even done it on the Kansas River to land a flathead and blue over 50 pounds.

Largemouth or spot?
Largemouth, no doubt.

Hat for fishing in the rain
I stick with the ball cap.

How often and how do you clean your boats livewell?
I spray a bleach/water mix in mine due to a lot of our lakes having zebra mussels. It's the same mix I spray on my motor and in the bilge area to try to kill the nasty things if they're there.

best all around bass lure.

Popper in stained water
I like the Loon color from River2Sea for dirty water.

Anyone remember this old Catfish bait?
Sounds like a punch worm that you put in dip bait.
-
Now how do I catch these suckers?
Sounds like green sunfish to me, they love hiding under stuff like that. I use a tiny jighead and a piece of a 2" grub to catch them by the dozens for flathead bait. Hold it right next to a rock or other piece of cover and they poke their heads out and nab it but you have to be really quick or they blow it right back out.

What is your best crankbait color/pattern
Rayburn Red, Lucky Craft's Bull Bream and Copper Bream, Berkley's Vintage Craw.

Never fished it but from what I've heard and experienced, Jacomo is by far better. I hope you prove that wrong though!
