Anyone throwing chatterbaits & swim jigs on a 7.x and up?
6.2:1 for me. No rule saying you can't use a faster reel though.

Carrot stix rods are they good
Do not make multiple post asking the same question. It's against forum rules and it clutters the forums and makes it harder for others to get their questions answered.

Arbor knot
Easier to tie, so that makes it better to me. I've never had any other way to rate or test it, since a fish hasn't ever gotten me to my spool knot.

weird soft plastics
I have some Jackall Scissor Combs. Crazy looking but they move like crazy too.

Fresh water drum
I find putting a bait in the water to work best for drum. Seriously, I've caught them on everything except a topwater. Once they get larger than a couple pounds they become mainly fish eaters but they eat lots of crawdads too. A live crawdad is far and away the best bait for them here. If you're going to fish a lure for them, I'd suggest a crawdad colored crankbait (I like a wiggle wart), bumped slowly around rocky areas. A Ned rig is also a drum catching machine. I've caught them on every type of plastic, crank, trap, jerkbait, spinnerbaits, bladed jigs, swimbaits, everything but a topwater.

Odd hookups
Read the title and was a bit afraid to click on this. Had the image of lots of stories from collage...

Great Find!
My dad's old tackle box had a bunch of Snatix in it, caught a lot of fish on them.

Arbor knot
Yes. If a fish gets you to your spool knot it isn't going to matter how you attached it most likely.

White Castle or Krystal
Never had either, haven't even heard of Krystal's. Lots of small mom and pop burger joints around here, you're not going to beat those places with a chain burger.

Im horrible at frog fishing.
Congrats! Now, take that snap swivel off and throw it. Doesn't matter where, just somewhere you can't find it and have the urge to use it again. Then retie your frog straight to your braid and prepare to be amazed how much better your frog moves and catches.

Can a shimono castias 150hg hold a 2 1/2oz swim bait
I wouldn't throw a bait that big on mine.

Best Insurance Companies to cover boats - and do they cover catastrophic incidents like wrecking your lower unit?
I have Progressive and have had on all my boats. I've used it once when a bearing froze and wrecked my axle 80 miles from home. They sent a flatbed trailer, loaded the boat and the trailer onto the flatbed, hauled it all the way and dropped it off in the driveway, didn't cost me a dime. I can't remember the exact amount but I have crazy high coverage of my boat, property damage, liability, and injury, as well as 10k coverage of anything not attached to the boat (a lot of policies don't consider your TM "attached" since it can be easily removed and rods/reels/tackle aren't covered by a lot of policies), and it's all a very affordable $32 a month.

Give slack or strike back when bass unexpectedly hit soft plastic as you reel in for recast?
I point the rod at them and they'll usually pull it tight, then I set the hook.

Why are bladed Jigs like a Chatterbait so popular compared to Inline Spinnerbaits?
I fish a lot of stained water where the strong vibration of the bladed jig helps the fish hone in on them. Never have done very well with the Snagless Sally, but a #3 Mepp's is a bait I throw when I don't care what I catch, just want to catch something.

Most Interesting Fight
I had a 40+ pound flathead wrap my line around a stump during the fight. Didn't want to lose it so I gave the rod to a friend and swam out, following the line, untangled it from the roots and discovered the fish was holed up under the stump. Grabbed the fish by the jaw and went for a pretty good ride while it was thrashing around but managed to get my arm and legs around it's tail and drug it in. All that went down in the dark too. I doubt I'd do it again now that I'm not 17 anymore.

Weakest Fighting Fish?
Those that think walleye don't fight have either never caught a good one, or they're catching them all out deeper. If you hook a decent walleye up shallow around here (where they normally live a lot of the year), they'll outfight a LMB no problem. They'll often fight so hard that they end up tearing themselves off the hook. Walleye in deeper water though, like fighting a wet sock. Weakest fight, pound for pound, shovelnose sturgeon. They hit like a freight train, then you just crank them in while they kind of swing back in for in the current. It really shouldn't be any surprise though, they barely have anything to move any water to pull with.

Boat's At Night & No Running Light's
I watched a ski/wake boat running full tilt across Lake Minnetonka once while I was out at night muskie fishing. One of the scariest things I've seen on the water because it was a dark night, the only reason I was even able to finally see them was they got back lit by a light on the shoreline. Made me real glad there was an island between me and them.

Doomsday soft plastic turtle
I know bass will eat them, but I've seen several occasions of bass following tiny turtles and then turning away, or sucking them in and then blowing them back out. They either seem to not enjoy the taste much, or maybe the idea of swallowing (and passing ), that shell is a turn off to them.
