looking for fishing buddy...
Whenever you're wanting to go post it in the KC thread, someone will take you up on going most likely. I take people all the time, but I usually just post it there and the first response is who I take.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
There's probably a trout in Kill Creek trying like heck to figure out how to unlock my phone.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Today was not a good day. Still having steering issues left over from the Classic so the VLO isn't even an option. So Cass and I took the yak to Kill Creek to chase trout. Fishing was pretty slow, and when I was about to leave I tried to pick a bait off a stump just below the water. Cass wanted to see what I was doing and both of us on the side at the same time flipped us. I lost my cell phone, my Virb, and a lower end Shimano/St Croix spinning combo. Not to mention the water is still way to cold to be swimming in. Seems like if it wasn't for bad luck lately, I wouldn't have any luck. Probably still be back out in the yak tomorrow, going to climb right back on that horse.

I HATE the wind :\
Maybe, but it wasn't easy. Weather Underground said 51mph gust. Not something I suggest or enjoy, but I do what I have to when the fish are biting.

BPS Titanium 8 Combo
Store brand rods are often the ones that are available at the best prices and often the only ones that can be bought with combos. I believe this leads to a lot of beginner fishermen and guys who are hard on equipment and therefore want to buy something cheaper. Plus, most stores return those rods without asking so there's no real incentive to taking care of them. I think a combination of those factors, along with the sheer volume of them that are sold, leads to a lot of them being returned. Yes they're not produced to the high standards that say a St. Croix or Loomis is, and some probably break because of that fact, but a vast majority of it I believe are user error.

Fiberglass on used boat questions
I would have walked away laughing from that train wreck. Whoever owned that thing before must run demo derby cars as well.

Panfish Baits
A 2" curlytail grub on a 1/32 or 1/16oz ball head with a slow retrieve will catch any panfish out there along with most any other species of fish.

Oh No! Mr. Bill
And the Chiefs lost their 3rd round pick this year and 6th round next year for tampering with Jeremy Maclin. They also lost Chase Daniels as he was just starting to look like he had some potential to be a starter in the NFL, leaving them with ??? at backup QB. All the sudden the Raiders have a really good look at the division for the first time in a long time.

Who makes Academy reels
Not sure who makes them, but they do a good job at it. I have 4 of their reels and 9 of their rods and have been happy with all of them.

Black & Gold
Academy makes a great gold/black back squarebill that I like in muddy water.

The YUM Yumbrella Flash Mob Jr. is the one I buy if I'm having to buy one. Make sure it's the junior, the regular flash mob is like trying to reel in a barge.

I HATE the wind :\
A light wind here is anything less than 15mph, so I've just gotten use to it. It was gusting over 50mph on us last Sunday and I was still able to feel strikes on my suspending jerkbait on the pause. Just like anything else in fishing, you have to practice it and eventually it comes to you.

Only 3 fish today 16.75lbs
Oh man, you're not fishing stock Strike King hooks are you? I've seen those things bend out and lose too many big fish. Got to swap those things out before the next trip for sure!

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
That's a great day on the water! La Cygne has been fishing good lately and I imagine those fish should be looking to go on the beds before long if some haven't already. I put the kayak in the creek at Gardner after work today at noon and fished for about 45 minutes. Only took 2 rods and the baits they had tied on, a spinnerbait and a 1/4oz T rigged stick O. Caught 3 on the spinnerbait and missed a couple more (yes I had a trailer hook @gardnerjigman ), never had a tap on the stick O. Off the water and home to sleep for a few hours at 1. Shad were flipping pretty steady in the creek and the flat on the south end, it's about to bust loose.

BPS Titanium 8 Combo
I have a Titanium 8 reel in the 8.1 ratio. It's a smooth reel and cast very well. I have it on my frog rod so it hasn't done anything other than some test casting, but I have no doubt it will be a good reel when it's number gets called.

If I had the extra money to blow, I'd get one of these. http://www.bassbanditboats.com/Models.html

New to the kayak bassin scene
I have no doubt that the canoes I've been in weren't built for stability and some out there are, just like some kayaks are and some aren't.
