  1. As a Chiefs fan, I'm glad to see him go. As a human being, I respect the man and the difficult decision he had to make despite the fact I'm sure he wanted to stay and play. A truly amazing player and competitor, and for sure one of the best the sport has ever seen.
  2. I quit using Shad Raps after them being a staple for many years. I've recently remedied that situation.
  3. They had a couple jointed wakebaits with props on the back that looked great also. A few of their other baits looked nice but I was very singularly focused once I saw they had that glide available. TW has them in stock. Something about the Golden Shiner color is calling me, probably because you just don't see many solid lime green swimbaits.
  4. Throw a Ned rig at the blue stuff anywhere between Turkey Point and the dam and you'll run into some smallmouth eventually. The water is probably still a touch on the cold side at Melvern since it takes those bigger lakes longer to warm up, but it should get there in the next couple weeks. When it does, I'll be there whacking smallies in the smaller pockets with a jerkbait. I've also heard that El Dorado is growing into a good smallmouth lake with some nice fish in it already. Milford is an excellent lake if it's closer than Melvern. Wabaunsee has a very good smallmouth population as well if you'd prefer to fish a smaller lake but you have to pay to fish it and it's only open during daylight hours from April through October. It has some very big smallmouth though.
  5. Yes it was. Our cabin was in Honey Creek and the water had 8-10 inches of visibility. Never saw the dam because I heard it was dirtier than that but we launched from Cowskin in the Elk on Saturday and there was at least 3' of visibility, clear enough to fish a jerkbait (which didn't matter because they wouldn't touch them). You could see the lake coming to life more and more every day. I had a feeling that someone was going to pop a good bag, but I wouldn't have ever guessed it would be almost 30 pounds on the last day.
  6. My new addition from the Expo at the Classic. I was doing so good not spending any money until I saw the swimbaits. The new Duel Ninja Glider 180SS. It looks as nice in the water as it does in the box too.
  7. The No Snag sinkers are good, as are slinky weights.
  8. I'll change baits pretty often if I know I'm around them but they aren't biting.

  12. It's a good bait with good hooks. Pounds through rocks very well and the paint has held up great despite lotsof abuse from rocks, bass, and wipers. I have some of all their new baits and the only one I haven't caught a fish with is the Digger but I haven't used them much yet.
  13. I put mine on a 1/4oz bullet head with a 2/0 hook, it's one I pour. It works perfectly with those baits. Keitechs are where it's at for a paddletail. I was thinking more like a 6" Savage Gear line thru for a finesse swimbait though.
  14. This was from my last last trip.
