  1. I'm guessing it'd go right at 4. Length and girth measurements help a ton in this situation.
  2. Are you referring to the Do It worm nose mold for Ned Rigs?
  3. Around most any of the boat ramps are good areas with relatively easy access. The zebra mussels make bank fishing at Melvern a difficult task though.
  4. One of my favorites. The hooks aren't great so you have to change those, but other than that they're real fish catchers. I like the French Pearl, Herring Bone Chartreuse, Cosmic Shad, Pro Blue, and Purple Green Apple are my favorite colors.
  5. I have a few different ones that I like. The now defunct Xcaliber XR50 and XRK50s are my favorites. The Strike King RES and 2tap have grown on me a bunch this past year. The new Berkley Warpig has proven itself to be a fish catcher since I started using it. I have high hopes for the 6th Sense FRS as well.
  6. I own 2, but haven't made a cast at the water with either I just picked up the 8.1 BPS Titanium 8 for frogging this winter and my 70 XG Curado just showed up at my door yesterday. Hopefully be taking the Curado for a test run today though.
  7. The mailman finally delivered! Now if I could just get my Scorpion 70 shipped to me!
  8. They're on the banks here in those water temps. Any kind of shallow cover has potential to hold them then. I don't fish for them often but I've been catching some around old cattail stalks and dock pilings. Crappie tube under a bobber is pretty much my go to when I'm trying to locate fish, unless they're aggressive, then it's a jerkbait like a 78 pointer.
  9. It's a weedless round head like an Eakin's Jig. I pour mine on a heavier hook than what the mold is actually made for though because I was having an issue with hooks bending. So yes, I tie them to be more of a finesse style jig.
  10. I found a video of PB as a small boy
  11. The 6th Sense Crush Flat 75X is a great one and so is the Luck E Strike Rick Clunn RC2 Flat.
  12. I swapped mine out for heavier hooks on the 130. I went to VMC Spark Point 4X strong hooks and haven't had any issues since. I'm fishing mine on a 7' 3" H/F rod with 50lb braid so a hook upgrade was pretty much mandatory.
  13. I like the profile and they come in some nice colors. Mine floats up very quickly though, which I don't like. I've caught twice as many fish with it as I did in all my trips with the Shadow Rap (2 instead of 1). It did account for one of the 3 biggest fish I caught that day, but after 2-3 solid hours of fishing nothing else, I switched to a different jerkbait and started lighting them up, so they didn't like something about it that day. I'll add a suspend dot or two to slow the float or maybe some heavier hooks. All in all, I think it will be a fish catcher and I liked it much better than the Shadow Rap.
  14. Ethanol free is all I run. Thankfully the QT right by my house sells it so I never have to look far unless I'm on a roadtrip.
  15. I'm sure there's some good Youtube videos out there on how to build baits. I tried a long time ago. It's hard and requires way more patience than I had at the time.
  16. I tie a lot of jigs for myself every year but I don't usually get too crazy with colors, mainly just the same few colors in various head styles and weights. Always fun when they end up looking like this! A couple of my well organized jig boxes.
  17. We use to carry a sort of hard fanny pack type box for wading creeks for catfish. It was worn in front and was a hard box with a snap at the top (around your belly button). When opened, it would flip down (away), from your body, and then there was another thin lid on top of the compartments that opened to the inside of the container. It didn't hold much but all we needed was some extra hooks, sinkers, swivels, and sponges. They weren't very stylish, but they were very functional for what we needed them for.
  18. The heavy powered rod isn't just for winching a big fish out of heavy cover. You're also using it to drive 2 very large hook points into a potentially very tough part of the mouth of a big fish. I don't much of the real heavy slop here either, but I stick with the 7' 3" H/F just for the reason I mentioned.
  19. Caught a couple bull gills on the float-n-fly out of a pond a few weeks ago. Also caught my first few trout of the season last week. I'd have video but my Virb is unfortunately at the bottom of the lake now
  20. They're in the same family, just on opposite ends of the size spectrum. Obviously there's different kinds of pickerel, but from my limited experience with them, they're quite a bit differently colored than that fish.
  21. Imakatsu Aventa Crawler, but you better really want it. Would something like a big Jitterbug work? Basically the same action. I've caught nice bass on a muskie jitterbug and the new Livingston Walking Boss Part II looks like it has potential.
  22. Call the company. A lot of them require you to register it with them in case the owner ever needs to use the warranty. They'll probably be able to contact the owner and let them know it was found. That's a good thing you're doing for someone, whether you find the owner or not.
  23. Be happy those guys think you can't catch a bass until the water hits 50. You'll get to enjoy some of the best fishing of the year before they ever hit the water
  24. I really like the bait. Should have caught a very nice fish on it if I hadn't pulled a rookie mistake and forgotten to check my knot after I tied it on. Still, I've managed to catch quite a few and it does have a nice glide and I really like the profile. I either haven't had the helicoptering issues, or I just haven't noticed it. I've had the best luck fishing mine up high in the water color, almost like a fleeing baitfish. I use 20lb Big Game with mine. The big fish that I screwed up on.
  25. It's a juvenile muskie or maybe a tiger muskie. My money is going towards it being a regular muskie. I've caught a few that were similar sized.
