  1. I really like my 580G Fisch. I'd highly recommend them if you've got a large dome like I have.
  2. I have a pegboard full of spools of line from one shot spools to 1lb spools.
  3. Better not, they're protected by the Migratory Bird Act so I'm sure harassing them could result in a stiff fine.
  4. 15 is a gentle breeze in Kansas in all seriousness. Until we found some fish right at the end of the day with rattle traps we were catching our fish on Ned Rigs with 3/32oz heads out in that 30mph wind. Dealing with lots of curlyleaf pondweed and sapling trees that grew when the lake was drawn down as well, tough to deal with even when the wind isn't blowing. Of course it helps when you have someone who's good on the trolling motor
  5. South Bend in what state?
  6. I listen to rock and country for the most part but also some rap and a little bit of pop.
  7. The line of Gulp! baits in the little jars are killers for bluegills, especially the maggots and worms.
  8. Very nice. The football was a good touch too.
  9. I fish it in open water all the time. It's not just for the heavier pound test aspect, I can also launch a bait a long ways and still be able to set the hook without a ton of extra effort.
  10. I saw a video recently where they'd allowed taking them like regular waterfowl. They really need to put some kind of culling plan into effect to control the population. We have crazy numbers of shad, bluegill, and white bass in a lot of the lakes around here and the water turkeys aren't too thick yet but it's only a matter of time.
  11. This is one of my best 6XD catches Oddly enough, it was the next cast after I caught this one and judging by what was sticking out of her throat, that crappie was pushing it's luck.
  12. That could kind of be said for any rod though couldn't it?
  13. I'd much prefer a reel with a bait clicker on it over a bell., although it is entertaining to watch how far those bells fly when I set the hook Ugly Stick or Cabela's Whoppin stick are great catfish rods.
  14. I wouldn't want to hunt public land in Kansas. You might be able to do a drive out in western KS but that's not all that fun IMO. Only certain areas have lots of deer here, almost all of them have big ones though.
  15. I've got a few jumbo cranks. Just got a 8XD in the mail yesterday. Hasn't touched the water yet but it looks like it's going to catch some fish for me.
  16. The sun is on those areas when it's at it's highest and warmest so those areas tend to warm up faster along with the fact that they're protected from the north winds.
  17. That's a cool looking gar. We have monster longnose gar around here that I'll catch on accident occasionally. I caught a big one last summer night fishing with a bladed jig. He hit it in a dock stall and ripped drag back under the dock. Lake I was on has monster bass, it was pretty disappointing when I saw it. A lot of fun to bowfish for too, had a 51 incher several years ago at the same lake.
