  1. probly at Harbor freight or Walmart.
  2. never thot of the not having to look down to see where it is pointed as a benefit of a cable steer. It is obvious once pointed out to you..duh
  3. wet mount with a pool noodle from inside. Shape the noodle hole or foam to fit the transducer, glue the noodle or foam block to the inside of the hull, fill the hole with water and push transducer in. No bubbles this way vs a glue in. Use Goop for the glue.
  4. none...use the wet bath way of doing it. Cut the end off a pool noodle or get a blaock of EPP foam and shape it to fit the transducer. Then glue the noodle piece into the bottom of the yak. Fill it with water and press fit the transducer in the hole. No air bubbles this way, comes right out for whatever reason you want to remove it, etc. Most guys west coast do this or have a yak with a built in recess for the transducer.
  5. Scotty makes good units, Walmart has some too that are their brand, Attwood. The bases from Attwood dont interchange with Scotty
  6. look up troll perfect, it fixes all these issues if adjustments wont
  7. learn how to turn your yak back over and learn how to get back on/in it before you need to do it out on the lake. Do it in a pool where you cant touch bottom or just off a boat ramp so you can get back to shore til you figure it out.
  8. Ive been told its due to the quicker turns...but it may also be what they are given from sponsers too
  9. if you go to a site like Hook 1 you will find rivets n such to do some attachment points. You can also go to NCKA kayak forum and find many articles on rigging including an anchor system.
  10. as I think about this, really, all waters are contaminated, even the sea. Just how much and what does it mean/affect is the question. Im just not worried about it I guess. Maybe I should be tho. Im not gonna change. Hope you work it out for you.
  11. I too use the invisx, good stuff
  12. I found the motel Im staying at does the inspections
  13. thx, Ive been given that info from another too so they must be the place...where do I get the inspection?
  14. Im going there in a couple of weeks. Never been there to fish. So, what bait/lure to use? Ive been told live minnows are hard to beat. What about crawdads? Also what artificials? Senko, jig, crank, drop shot, etc?? What colors?
  15. I believe your concerns are in your mind and unreasonable, but thats just my thoughts. I eat the fish from there. But, they are your concerns and important to you. You have to decide. I dont think anything we say will change your mind based on your posts above. You got the info from a"man you know". Is his info any better than anyone elses or just his opinion based on what? Thats my take.
  16. yeah, but thats just a statistic
  17. No, just one. I dont go too far so it doesnt matter. No more than a few miles at a time.
  18. Im guessing bad line or tightening the knot is it
  19. Ok, so then like at DMV where they reach in the drawer and pull out a plate and hand it to you right then?
  20. I dont think you can do that with a hull number. Its not like it is a specialty plate for a car where you can go to DMV and order it up and pay extra to do it. BUT, I could be wrong.
  21. I agree. The big thing for me with a bass boat is the larger front deck, but I dont fish just bass and do sometimes fish bigger water. The large front deck is REALLY nice tho.
  22. is the line getting down around the eye of the hook where its tied and getting cut there? Also I have a few times had too much slack on a hook set and snapped my line at the hook. Maybe your line is weakened by this hook set?
  23. I use a Werner Hooked model. For a taller guy or a high position seat you will want a 240-260 length. Im 5-9 and use a 240. These carbon style paddles weigh 26-28 oz and WOW what a difference it made. On many of the Kayak fishing forums there are group deals a couple of times a year and they also have discount codes. Lots of good info on those sites as well.
  24. good job. For me they do not replace boats, but is an equal to them for most things.
