Paul, you make me sick... All kidding aside, nice fish! You didn't have the jitters at all whe that battle was over, I'm sure. lol!

My pointers and sammies have numerous fish under their belts...Loved them both unconditionally until recently, when I had my PB smallie break one of the VMC trebles on my sammy!

Of all days for a high pressure, cold weather system to hit, it had to be my one day off this past week! The shad have been in the bays and the bass have been bustin 'em pretty well here recently...except for veteran's day. Well I did the best I could to turn $#!* into sugar and my new neighbor and friend, Tony, managed to boat 15 fish in 12 hours of fishing. My game plan the night before was to throw topwater in the morning and lipless or shallow diving cranks on the shad schools in the afternoon. Needless to say that plan went out the window about an hour into the day. All the fish were caught on either a finesse jig/baby rage craw trailer, a shaky head, or a t-rigged baby brush hog, all green pumpkin with the tips dipped in JJ's chartreuse, worked sloooooooooowly along steep rocky banks near the mouths of the coves. As I type this I wanna say, I am busy this whole weekend and the weather is PERFECT! Gotta love it huh? ;D Anyhow, at least we didn't get skunked, and it was good to get on the water with a new friend. Here are a couple of pics. He had the big one of the day which was probably about a 3 1/2 pound LM on a shaky head, but both of our phones were dead by this time so unfortunately we couldn't get a pic of that one.

I'll let ya know how it goes. I had heard that the water is about 2ft OVER summer pool! Apparently the shad have pushed even futher into the bays cuz of the high water. If the weather stays like it was yesterday and today, then I think we'll do pretty well.

We turned our keys to the old place in today!!! FINALY! Anyhow, I've already made friends with a guy accross the street and we're hittin Kentucky Lake up on Wednesday. I feel like I haven't been fishing in forever...I think I was starting to have withdrawals or something. Well, now we just have to unpack. Thank God for small miracles! That was the worst week of the last couple years of my life right there!!!

Well anybody who has been in the military knows, this is a fact of life for us. Since my last kid was born and I got promoted we became eligible for a nicer house on base with more bedrooms (4, and we only have 2 kids). This is cool and all, but it's killing my fishing time during my favorite part of the year to nail 'em on Kentucky Lake. Hopefully it's not too cold by the time I have everything all set up and I'll have a little bit of time left to hit em while they're still gorging on shad in the bays, before they go off to their deep winter time lairs. Well, I hope ya'll are catchin 'em up wherever yall are. Fall is awesome bassin!!!

I have a few high end bc combos, worth 300-500 each, and I use a lightning rod for my one spinning rig, and it hasn't let me down yet. I too have had no readon to upgrade it cuz it's worked out so well for me. You'll be happy with a lightning rod!

Summer is my favorite time to tae the kids too, when the shellcrackers are bedding. We were just out n' about and didnt have anything to do so I figured I'd take 'em out for a lil while.

I took the family out to a fall festival and afterwards I took my daughters out to the lake for alittle while. My 7yr. old hadn't been in quite a while so she was excited, and my youngest, who will be 2 in December had never been before. She's still a little too young to actually fish, but I figured she's never too young to enjoy nature. Still, I showed her how the reel worked and tried to get her to fish for a little bit, but after about 5minutes she decided that she'd had enough and wanted to throw pebbles in the water and get her mom to chase her down the gravel road. She had a blast. We didn't stay too long but I got some pics of the girls and me.

For some odd reason that happens alot to me when I am fishing lipless cranks. Anyway, the fish will be fine man, I'm sure of it... don't sweat it.

It's been a while since I've eaten any bass. Im goin out in a couple of weeks and I just may bring a couple home after reading this...Hope they were all delicious!

If you are as big on hop character as I am let me know, and I will bring a couple of double IPA's that will blow your mind, buddy!

Word on the street is that Bryan and I aren't shippin out again 'til 2011 so we oughtta be able to make it again!!! ;D I was upset about missing this roadtrip, but it seems like I'll be there afterall. I'll make sure I have plenty of "supplies" just like last time, and I'm gonna do my best to stay upright wherever I'm sitting, too.

That's GREAT man! I can't wait til my youngest is old enough to go with me. You guys' pic makes me remember when my 7yr. old caught her first one too. Ya'll will have a lifetime of memories! Keep the pics coming!!!
