  1. Great to hear Deb! Good job!!
  2. Great lookin fish Patrick! Great lookin' water too, by the way.
  3. Well I picked her up a day early and plan on getting out on the water on Saturday. Will definitely post pics of the maiden voyage! 8-)
  4. 14' aluminum jon, fresh paint job, brand new 30lb thrust minn kota, brand new charger, brand new night lights, and trailer. 700 bucks!!! I'm pickin' her up Friday! Wudda you guys think?
  5. I love them all of course, but to me the BEST is having a hawg bust clean through a thick grass mat on a toad. The strike is vicious and when you set that hook it almost hurts your wrists (after a days worth of this, they DO hurt) cuz of how solid it is every time. I can't wait for summer!!!
  6. WHAT THE HELL??!!!!! It was hard enough to come by a bite last night, but to add insult to injury, I had 2 break offs. I was fishing frogs in the slop with 50lb power pro. I had a perfect DOUBLE palomar knot tied each time I got broken off. One of the fish that broke off, judging by the head would have gone 5 or better...NOW...This is the second spool of power pro IN A ROW that has given me problems. I used to love the stuff but now I am getting kind of iffy about it. I know there are bad spools out there, but what are the chances of getting 2 bad spools in 2 consecutive purchases FROM DIFFERENT STATES!? With all of that said, what braid do most oy you guys prefer for heavy slop fishin'??? It may be time for me to make a change of brand.
  7. Slow days suck, but at least you beat the skunk! Was that out at cecil?
  8. Got out for a couple hours on a long lunch break today. The grass in the rear area lakes at Ft. Campbell is growin good and the frogs are startin to produce! Caught 5, missed 2.
  9. now THAT is profound!
  10. I'd also say the bronzeye frog, or any number of toads, including the ragetail toad or zoom hornytoad.
  11. neat video! Thanks for sharing!
  12. I have a black n' blue finesse jig I got off of my buddy, but I'm not sure of the brand. I love that bait with a bitten off rage tail craw in okeechobee craw color with JJ's Magic chartreuse on the claws.
  13. I only needed one but ended up with two. Got the bluegill 4" tru-life, slow/fast sink version. I tinkered with it a bit and bent the wire just a hair and it seems like it'd hold up pretty well. I can't wait to use it, especially since the 'gills are starting to move up to bed here!!!
  14. Great vid Russ, and great pics Burley! I had a feeling my chair malfunction photo was going to end up in there...I can't wait for the 5th annual roadtrip! (assuming I am still stateside)
  15. Agreed, 110%!!! Looooove the red shad!
  16. They didn't have any of the 2500's, but the 3000FJ didn't look TOO much bigger than the 2500's I had seen before, so I think it'll work out ok. Just more line capacity in case a huge blue cat decides to pick up my shaky head with 8lb fluoro...
  17. I was going to buy another pflueger president but I had some extra cash from a poker game, so I picked up a shimano symetre 3000. This thing feels sweet and I can't wait to hit the water with it! Anybody else own one? If so, how's it held up for ya?
  18. Any of you seen "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" yet? wow...Also, I agree with the dog comment. The scene in "I am legend" where his shepherd dies had me holding my breath and staring at the floor, trying my best to keep my soldierly composure!
  19. They're DEFINITELY worth the wait guys!!!
  20. Agreed! Idaho***er (Patrick) gave me a spool of 8lb ultra-soft at the roadtrip and I love the stuff! Thanks again Patrick!!!
  21. most sensitive I have ever touched for 200 even is my daiwa zillion
  22. Like a lot of guys already said...really no wrong way to fish these. I have had to add a trailer hook, like Sam, a couple of times though. Taking the skirt off and replacing it with a fluke has produced bigger fish for me with this bait, too.
  23. Very nice outing!!!
