Rage Tail
I love the toads and shads in the summer. The craw was an awesome jig trailer while we were at Kentucky Lake too. I caught somewhere near 20 or so bass before I had to put a new one on my jig! Great baits!!!

Whats your favorite soft plastic color for clear clear water?
I generally stick with any earth tone/natural color for really clear water. All of the ones mentioned before are good choices. My personal favorite would either be baby bass or green pumpkin. Like Basser89 said too...Idunno why, but I have done well on red shad also. My PB largemouth (11.6) fell to a red shad culprit jerkworm, and it was in gin clear water.

4th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
What a great bunch of people! Bryan and I had a blast!!! Neither of us boated anything very large, but the numbers were good and the company we had on the water was even better. I want to say thanks to Big-O for taking us along and ordering us to stay in his room when he thought it was too cold to stay in our tent at Fenton. We had a great time and hope to see ya again in the near future sometime. Thanks to Bud, who is the first guy I met off of the forum in person, and still one of my favorite fishin' buddies...We gotta get back out there as soon as you get a chance, Bud! My thanks go out to David as well, who took Bryan and me out. I'm glad I was there to see you boat your first smallmouth, and also to see you gain a little confidence in jigs. Thanks to everyone for supporting your armed forces the way you all do. I'm proud to be a member of such an outstanding bunch of folks! As soon as I find my camera I'm gonna post a pic of Bryan and me with our first fish on our new rods, which we picked up pretty quickly the next day after we had received them. On that note, thank you Flechero for making such a piece of art for me! The rod is beautiful, and fishes even better than it looks!!! If Bryan and I are still in country when it's time for the next roadtrip then I look forward to seeing all of you guys next year! (Also, I know Bryan has a shot, and I think Burley got one too...but I'm surprised the pic of me laying on my back falling outta the chair hasn't popped up yet!) ;D

I kinda agree with Mike. On one hand, some of the best fishing I've experienced on Kentucky Lake was during what most consider to be terrible conditions, and secondly, the weather changes so much so quick around here that the "forecast" could very well change by that time. Just my .02...I'm all geared up and ready to go...I can't wait!

Any one ever have a Giant Bass pull an April Fools joke on you?
You gave your secret spot away on the 3rd pic down, over and behind the left arm...Now I will be there everyday with ALL my friends. Seriously tho...nice outing. When I was on leave in FL (my real home) I had a big girl break me off right at the boat quicker than I could loosen my drag. At least you know where she lives.

Caught a monster bucket today
That was me that posted the iraq fishing site. Look up the Baghdad School of Flyfishing on google and it should pop right up. I was at Speicher and had nowhere to fish so I know how bad it gets man! Be safe and hurry home!

knots and fluorocarbon
While I was thinking about my knot situation with braid, I also wanted to know if the palomar is OK to use with fluorocarbon too. Any info??

knots for braid
Ok thanks guys...after those last 2 posts I think it was just the line...it was kind of old. It has only been just within the last couple months that this was happening and only when I was using T-Rigged soft plastics. I've since bought a new spool and I'll go from there and see how it works out.

knots for braid
Here recently I've had a few fish break me off with my 40lb power pro...I don't know if it's because the line is kind of old or if it has anything to do with me tying a palomar knot and it breaking at the knot. What do you guys think? And if it is the palomar, what knot do you all prefer for braided lines?

My leave in South Florida
The other half of my leave was spent in Palm Bay, FL, near cocoa beach. My friend Josh's dad owned some private property with a RIDICULOUS bass pond. There have been some hawgs caught outta there in the past but we weren't lucky enough to hang into one of 'em. We did get crazy numbers though and we had a great time.

Bass from Jax, FL, from leave
I had quite a few outings with my brother in law and my good friend Brandon down in Jacksonville, FL while I was on leave (note the long hair and fumanchu, lol). We caught a lot of fish and had a great time. Here are a few pics from a couple of those trips.
