  1. Not “Yamamoto Senkos” like I believe OP is looking for. Although they look like Big bite baits trick stick and I’ve had good enough success with them so that’s what I use. My three choices would be black/blue, green pumpkin and Junebug. For a fourth, a watermelon. I think the watermelon hues would be redundant in your three personally. Unless you’re saying watermelon red works well in stained water?
  2. I’m in Maine. Where’s the deal? Lol
  3. I haven’t been able to figure out why at first the toad runs fine but every time after a few casts it loses its action. It’s like the legs start sticking together or the plastic hardens up in 70-80* water lol. So if it works at first, don’t curse my name! And if you figure something out like boiling the legs for a few seconds or boiling and separating the legs a bit, def let me know! Maybe they can be salvaged some way but IMO should be good to go out of the package. Never used a buzz toad and don’t know what attributes you look for. Always just seen horny toad type legs on them
  4. Been trying to get on all morning to tell you they have little to no action. So unless you plan on melting them into something else, they are not worth it in my opinion. I bought a bunch of watermelon red when their site was clearing them out for like $1.50/pack. I bought a bunch of their soft swimbaits. They have no action whatsoever. However a few other baits were good: tiki-drop, finesse worms, tubes (solid head), craws
  5. Depends what you want to use it for? The 1/4 oz version is designed for shallow water and 1/3 oz for deeper water. I believe the 1/4 oz sinks slower.
  6. Thought I had the answer but this kicker fish kicker kraw has wings. Don’t think kicker fish is in business anymore but you may be able to find some around... second post merged: Northernbasser was on the right track. I think he was thinking (along with myself) of the other craw tube
  7. Luhr Jensen woodchopper? edit: after searching, hard to find lure. Guess it’s not on the market anymore.
  8. Lunkercity.com has free shipping any order size this weekend only. I bought some sluggo ss 9” - big worm looking thing pudgie - thinking a good Ned rig bait Lc grub - looks like good ball head bait Football jig heads for $1.49!

  13. Sounds like it was just a tough day. Watch lots of YouTube and gather all the info you can here and odds will better be in your favor in the future! Also do you have a fish finder? It would be hard to fish deep without one.
  14. Bass pro 5” stick-o when on sale. Yum dingers/strike king shim-e-stick/big bite baits trick stick otherwise
  15. Practically all of Yum products. Want a stick bait? $3. Want a craw? $3. Want a finesse worm? $3. Big worm? $3. You get the point. Big bite baits 25 packs. You can buy 25 trick sticks for the price of one pack of Senkos. Big Bite creatures are $5 for 25. I used to like the Havoc line a lot too. Pit boss, craw fatty, rocket craw, beat shad, bottom hoppers were all great for $3
  16. What about a football head jig? They say the football shape hangs up less in rock. Or maybe a football shaped weight?
  17. I hear ya. I fish out of a 24 year old Ranger R72 and still feel privileged to be out on the water with my $100 electronics and old MotorGuide and 90hp Johnson. I’ve never bought a pack of Senkos, just always thought the price was out of line for such fragile baits. Besides, I feel I am not polluting the lake when they fling off on a cast. I look for cheap baits to throw. Fishing has always seemed to be expensive but lately it does feel like it has gotten way out of hand. Just look at prices of strike king, Googan baits, Keitech, and other more premium fishing tackle. I seem to do just well with my $15 Diawa Samurai spinning combos and $50 baitcast combos with Big Bite Baits and yum soft plastics. I guess what I’m trying to say is no need to make it expensive if you shop around for deals but some people seem to have more money than they know what to do with. It is well within their right to spend how they want. Me personally, I’d rather have lots of cheaper but still quality items than a few excellent things.
  18. First step is to check your local laws and see how many hooks you can have rigged up. If only one or a couple, no biggie. Use hitchhikers on the dummy baits and have the long middle wire with the hook.
  19. Same. I put an order for plastics that I got in a few days. And put an order in for a rip rap special rod the day after. No tracking, no email or live chat to help. Was impressed at first now not so much.
  20. Kastking has some cheap $5ish 50lb braid on that auction site.com
  21. I like using braid for sensitivity and practically never need replacing until it gets frayed. Learn a line to line knot for a leader in clear water. The ones I like are uni to uni and blood. Easiest to tie in my opinion. Another way to save money is use lots of mono backing and only spool 75 ft of braid. So you get two spools worth out of 150 yds. I would pick 50 lb test braid for bait caster if med/heavy or 30 for medium. 15-20lb test for spinning.
  22. The frugal in me was wondering if a (homemade) Jika rig with an octopus hook would work the same? Heavy weights for mag worms and light weights for smaller worms. Any thoughts?
