I thought fishing WAS the intervention id hate to know what id be doing and looking at all the time if I wasn't fishing or looking at fishing stuff.

If you've been away from your family, friends, and fishing for a year would you extend to stay away even longer. We were just asked who wants to extend and stay here longer with the new unit replacing us. I put my name down mostly because of the extra money I mean an extra 3 months comes out to a little over 12grand more iv made and 6g of that into savings. Its not definite but if the opportunity arises my name is at the top of the list I jumped at the offer while everyone else is still thinking about it. I think but not sure but if I get it and I'm here in February I can reenlist for the 10,000 bonus tax free I dont want to reenlist but I may just for the job security. So if you were in my situation would you make the same decision as me I mean i did get to go home for a week in a half last month it wasn't how I expected it to turn out but its still better then nothing.

nothing out of the ordinary really but I did see a Raccoon and woodchuck(groundhog) have a battle royal one spring it was sweet the chuck kicked the raccoon arse.

Oh and the 17 being too small idk iv heard mixed reviews but one of the guys in our group the guy who ones the hounds we run uses a .17mach2 which is a necked down 22LR he has DRT a few coyotes on the run with it same with fox cant tell where they were shot till you skin them and see the blood shot pin *****. He keeps his shots in under 100 if he can but iv seen one shot out around 150 by the pond at a trot DRT from the thing shot in the neck. our coyotes push the 80lb mark as well they get big with them NY winters and all the deer around.

I don't remember the fur prices off the top of my head but we do it as a group I know when I left last year for this deployment we had like 70 something coyote hides and twice as many fox hides. Even at 10 bucks a pop which is very low that's 700 in coyotes alone split 3 ways more then pays for the ammo and gas used but we don't do it for the money just to have fun and control the population money from hides is a bonus.

Iv considered using a .223 its what my nephew uses and every round we have tried blows fox in 2 I sell the hides so I want as little fur damage as possible. .17s are just sweet little guns too.

My wife loves carp fishing she used to go a lot with our brother in law when she was a kid because shes the baby of her sisters with a 20 year gap between her and her older sisters so Chad took her when she was younger now I take her. I'm personally not a big fan of fishing for them but they are fun and fight hard.

So going threw some old pics from when the wife and I first got hitched I stumbled across some pics of our first spring carp fishing trip as a married couple. I found some pics of a carp and a sucker I had caught. The carp was on corn the small sucker............bare hands while fighting the carp outa some trees he got tangled in I waded out to kick him out and snuck up on a sucker and snatched it with the carp still on the line in my other hand.

Cool story, My oldest is 3 iv been taking him for 2 seasons now first couple started off just how your day went. Iv adapted to taking him and leaving my gear at home though now he pretty much does everything but the hook business on his own I wont let him unhook or bait the hook for fear of the reaming I would get from mom lol. I switched from live bait to using the gulp alive worms or spikes much more kid friendly if you will and it lasts much longer. I love fishing with my son and by next season my youngest will be fishing to hes 1 now next season he will be 2 same age Noah was when he started and same age I started.

try a small grub and ball jighead like a mister twister white or chartrues you will catch anything that swims in there.

times do fly my oldest is starting pre k next week. And yes your old John hell my wife was calling me old last night talking about our kids and having another in a few years she thinks I'm old and I'm only 25.

I'll have to ask him about all that I'm not even stateside and wont be for another 4 months so I wont be inspecting it till then if i were to get it or if it was still for sale its been for sale since before I left back in January just now hes got it listed on CL. I wouldn't be surprised if it hasn't been modded everyone and there brother in my area are hot rodders it seems comes with living in the sticks and everyone being a redneck.

what about finding another engine for it around same range there are a lot of marina's in my area all with boats for sale all over the property along with engines. I know its another craps shoot because its unknown but would it be smarter to just shop around and find a like engine with like a 1 year warranty from what iv read doing a search finding other forums its a common route to take. I know the #4 Cylinder blown like you said is a very broad statement and its usually statements like them that get me the best deals because to average people they just know the engine is blown or transmission doesn't work, so I buy them drop the tranny pan and replace the plunger for reverse and away I go making out like a bandit. I know this may not be that simple but I'm hoping. I may call him later and ask what he knows about said #4 cylinder.

How are older evinrudes to repair? the reason I ask is there is a bass boat less the a mile from my house with a blown cylinder #4. It's cheap comes with a good amount of goodies with it but it has the engine issue. Now I can tear apart any gas or diesel engine rebuild it and slap it all back together tuned while blind folded even rotory engines like the old mazda's. However iv never touched a boat motor well not a outboard iv fixed my old bosses twin 302's in his charter boat but thats a 5. slow mustang that swims pretty much. I was thinking if parts are cheap to rebuild the engine it may be worth picking up sense I'm mechanically inclined I mean this is how I got my last few cars that were my "beater" cars blown engines I fixed em for next to nothing I have every tool known to man get discounts on parts and saved my self lots of money but would it be as simple for a boat also. I would rather get bit up then wear anything treated in permethrin that stuff made me break out like crazy our uniforms come treated in it I ended up washing them about 50 times before wearing the rest of them to make sure all the stuff was washed out of it.

says who!! that's the one thing I HATE about mine to d**n expensive to make it go bang once i get a .17 centerfire of some kind the .243 is getting put away for deer only or ground hogs on really windy summer days its $25 a box of 20 for the d**n thing. Not that the .17 will be cheaper but it wont blow fox in 2 like the .243 does.

My black and blue jigs I usually throw a rage craw trailer in either bama craw or watermelon flake color. Black and blue jigs are my favorite color jigs to throw.

. I agree on the veritas it's what I use I have it in my hands 90% of the time when on the water. I love it.

I'm not the spray and pray type I am very very picky when it comes to accuracy in my rifles if there not sub MOA I simply don't use them. Thankfully all my guns are sub MOA but they are all bolt action and heavy which is just fine with me. I really want a 17 hornet but savage hasn't released it yet and seems like its gonna be very hard to get once they do from what I'm hearing on other forums. At this point I may look for a CZ 22 hornet and get it re barreled in 17 hornet. If not the hornet I may go for a fireball or rem not sure I just want something for fox and coyotes most guns will do 1 but not the other fox seem to be made of tissue paper even when shot with a .223
