The "I have to eat all that" thread got me thinking how much do y'all eat like any what I call power eaters here. Guys who do the stupid eating challanges at restraunts. I used to back in my highschool and college days. My personal bests are iv done all the 1 lb burger challanges in my area plus a 2.5lb burger. Then my pb wings was in college hooters used to have all u can eat wing thursdays for 10 dollars they had a competition for who ever ate the most wings in 1 sitting won a like 65" tv. My roommates and I went every Thursday. To try and win that tv for our apt I took 2nd place with 65 breaded wings in one sitting. Need less to say my class mates knew not to sit behind me in lecture Friday mornings. But that was all in my skinny days of weighing 135 soaking wet and some how packed tons of food away with out gaining a pound now I can barely eat 2 doz wings if that but burgers still hold a special place in my heart.

My wife was having a nervous break down over that crap freaking out cuz I'm not home I'm in pre mob for afghanistan she was like making her self sick over it.

So I need help at finesse fishing its one thing I am horriable at unless I'm visualy sight fishing a shakey head or a weightless fluke. All others like drop shoting and light little slow baits I just can't get it. I think a big part of it is my equipment my only spinning set up is a BPS extreme ex400 with a MF rod the thing just sucks its by fvar my worst set up it has no sensativity I think and the reel grinds and the drag is either all or nothing with like a degree of rotation on the drag knob. So I feel like I'm not feeling pretty much. I'm thinking after this long drill when I get home in june I'm gonna buy 2 new set ups like maybe a veritas spinning rod with maybe a shimano reel or the lower abu reels the one just above the cardnal series. This will be my major spinning set up and finese bait combo. The other will be a rod for carolina rigs cuz I hate seting one up for it and changing my mind and then changing back later so I want one set and dedicated for c rigs but I think the priority will be the spinning finesse combo. Besides the combo deal what else would u recomend to master the finese techniques probably a braid for line and just leave all but the finese stuff home and just practice practice practice

Vabassfisher same thing happend here there was 3 big pond/quarrys I used to fish people used to swim there the place got trashed and the old man posted it now he only let's ice fisherman out there and only if u go to his door every time to let him know. I fish from the bank I carry 5 rods and a tackle bag and my phone is my camera. In my tackle bag I have 7 plano 370 boxs busting at the seams then side compartments loaded full with hooks sinkers plastics lots and lots of plastics. But there are some spots that require long hikes threw dense woods to get to a hole in a creek arm or something so I will take 1 spinning rod and what ever fits in my cargo pockets.

One thing I have noticed with spinners is steady no life retrieves equal pike after pike after pike bass seem to like bumps and yo yo ing speeds twitches or just kill it even after u bring it past cover

I get a news letter from the NYSDEC every now and then and this last one had a thing bout ferral pigs being seen and recorded breeding in multiple spots in nys. A part of me got exited because I love to hunt and if I got some wild bacon walking around and the nys policy is shoot first ask questions later when it comes to wild pigs iv got a .243 round with piggy writen all over it. Yeah you can't target bass with live bait till 3rd sat in june. However if you are bullhead fishing with worms and catch a bass u just have to release it as quick as possiable without harm. I love spinner baits I got a lot of t1s a few booyahs and a ton of cheap .99 cent walmart ones in every size and color. I actually like the walmart ones the best because there dirt cheap I can modify them all I want if I mess it up oh well its a buck. If your having a hard time getting hook ups on spinners throw a Sk bleeding trailer on it. If I'm getting smacked a lot and coming up short I do one of 2 things and always instantly swings odds in my favor. I either throw a grub or split tail spinner trailer on in some funky color opp of the spinner or I throw a extra hook on it. I don't like trailer hooks when fishing around wood however I tend to snag more. Same goes for buzzbaits

I use both baby rage craw and paca trailers in mini and regular size the baby craw I throw on a strike king shakey head football jig. I rig it weedless I put it threw like 3/8th of a inch pop the hook out run it the rest the way and hook it weedless it makes like a "Z" shape and looks 99.9% real like a little craw postured up in defense I slam smallies on this rig draging a few feet or inches then pop it and make it swim with 2 or 3 jerks then let it sit count to 5 and repeat 9 times outa 10 around 3 or 4 seconds I fell that thump if not its when I start that drag

Ouch your lucky nothings broke but still be carefull I had a freak accident in highschool wiped out snowboarding went to the dr cuz my neck was stiff got x rays and they said I agravated a old fracture that I broke my neck 2 years befor in a car accident and never knew!

I have a 76mh veritas and love it iv beat the heck outa it and its holding up quite well no issues mines paired with a revo sx 7.1 and use it for jigging and t and c rigs

Depending of the depth u can use rebel ultra light floating crawfish crank bait. I destroy em in the river here with that lure just stop- go- jerk. This year iv caught a few slobs 5+ on the new booya topsecret spinners in the red craw color with a chart fat albert trailer.

The comment about throwing coffee and seeing it attracting minows makes me wanna try to make stale fruit loop cereal flavored baits cuz the minows love em so do the ducks and geese or stale cheerios lol

You could try mega strike to lube up your plastics as well to slide threw. What knot u tie can play an importance to iv noticed when fishing palomer knots where the tag end is going in line with the main line. The tag end will start a build up of that silky snot grass so I just switch knots and never use dou locks in the stuff either if you usualy do for certain set ups like I do.
