Noah our 2 yearold was fishing the day he was born he just didn't know it haha I had the wife fishing her entire first pregnancy. She doesn't get out as much this time she seems to think because she had a rough delivery that means she's gotta take it easy this pregnancy so she only fishes spots I can pull the car right up to. But she got her first smallie now she's begging to go more she just needed a reminder how much fun they are.

We take him almost daily it works out nice we go for a walk after work walk to the icecream shack get our selves sundays cuz he never finishes anything he doesn't like sweets. From there we go to the playground wich happens to be right next to one of my favorite fishing spots close enough to stand on the slide cast over the fence and be able to fish. So well he plays I fish exept last night he went down the slide one then wanted me to help him hop the fence to watch me fish. I think he was facinated with my buzz bait mostly he kept trying to hit it with my other pole when it got close lol. He was using a texas rigged lizard in them pics. Buzz bait was hard to keep on the surface with his stop and go retrieve.

He loves fishing he gets all exited when its on tv or I ask him if he wants to go fishing he gets a big smile and runs to the door same with hunting he's. Almost more obsessed with that then fishing.

Hopefully soon everytime we make plans for me to leave my gear behind for spong bob pole and some worms and bobber it down pours and the river floods like crazy. Perch and bull head are running good so I wanna take him to get some

Wife finaly got a smallie she didn't know what to do she hasn't caught on sense she was prego with our first 2 years ago. I figured I had to get the baby in the oven fishing early so take the wife right she's 27weeks along here. She got upset when I caught mine cuz it was bigger but I have no control over that. She was using a rebel ultralight crawfish crank.

I would use a longer rod for pitching that could be a lot of your problem. I used to use a 66 for flip/pitch and couldent cast that far without tons of emph behind it. This year I picked up some 7+ rods and with my 76mhf veritas I can pitch and flip almost double the distance I did befor with ease creating little to no entry splash

Well he didn't catch it I did on a buzz bait he's only gonna be 2 on may 21st but he wanted to help. He was alittle scared of it. The first one was bigger he didn't mind that one other then going ewwwwwwww after poking it. The 2nd one he was terrified of because once it was on the bank it started freaking out flipping out that's why in the one pic he's yelling at it to go "down" his word for everything he doesn't like.

Probably the only soon to be 2 year old with close to a 300 dollar set up haha Once again wanted to be like his father like the other thread. By the way that's my set up not his he has a sponge bob pole

My frog only rod is a cheap 50 dollar berk lightning rod 7heavy with the quantium burst and 55lb power pro. Its been working great don't care about having a super sensative frog rod if u can't feel a fish or see a fish take a frog somethings wrong. Plus no need to feel that lilly pad u can see with your naked eye. Like clancy though I hate the reel my AR bearing went in mine it works 60% of the time the rest the handle just free spools and smashes your knuckles on the hook set. On the other hand I have the 76mhf veritas with a revo sx hs and love it it would make a great frog rod but its my jig and heavy plastic rod because of the sensativity thing.

Maybe the shad were the bass's pets lol seriously I used to have 2 albino oscars in a 75gal tank we fed them gold fish dozen at a time. All the same sized gold fish all same color but there was always the same one left everytime till he got bigger and I took it out. The oscars would not eat it and let it swim with them soon as any other fish went into the tank they destroyed it but never the 1 goldfish. So maybe it was like that with them shad and the bass who knows its just odd

What's everyones favorite depth to fish deep,shallow, what ever it maybe. Personaly I like the shallows 3 ft or less and crystal clear. Idk if its because I grew up fishing a small river that's clear shallow and packed bank to bank with big mean smallmouth and northerns. I used to go every day after school as a kid sometimes till 1am freaking my mom out catching one everycast with live craws I cought there on the spot. Them were the good ole days befor I knew what a crankbait was.

My wife was fishing yesterday but she expects to catch something every single cast and she wasn't getting bite at all so she sat there pouting because the night befor we were slaming smallies below the dam we were on with the canoe. I was using some flukes but they wernt taking it I had a gill grab it that was it then I tried the jig but was tough in the small canoe and a 76mh veritas without her getting in the way then I also used a trigged rage anaconda nothing worked but a white t1 spinner

What would you use to fish timber and brush I have a spot I hit yesterday with the wife in her first ever canoe trip and its loaded with tons I mean tons of submurged logs and stumps. The other side is all brush hanging in the water. The depth is anywhere from 4ft to 10ft and the creek is only a moderate cast length across in spots not wide at all. Species there's both large and small mouth mostly largemouth iv only ever caught 1 smb and it was yesterday. Then there's also tons of pike as well. I was thinking brush hogs and jigs basic fliping stuff. Iv never reall flipped and pitched this stuff just practiced how in open water. I woulda tried yesterday but kinda hard when sitting in a canoe normaly I stand when alone or with my nephew but the wife was freaking out so I couldent really do much I just threw spinner baits landed a few missed tons cuz I couldent set the hook without her freaking we would tip. So I'm hoping to get out alone to hit all that timber this week so it will be prespawn fish but if not I won't be able to go out till middle of june so spawn and post spawn. Any thoughts

Not a fan of Turkey hunting though I hunt everything else. Coulda smoked quite a few the past few weeks while making the local ground hog population go poof into a red mist from my .243 but I don't have tags and it would be super illegal to use a .243 not to mention messy

I have the bps extreme spinning reel and hate it with a passion but its my only spinning reel so I'm forced to use it.

Congrats I love pike fishing there a close runner up for my fav after bass there a blast to catch. Where about in new york are you that pike are extinct I catch em everywhere here in wny

8.8 on a snaggproof boss rat last July the 7th

Oh I know I caught maybe a dozen crappie in the deeper water thinking id find bigger bass there but between me and my nephew we got about 30 bass in the shallows at the mouth of the lake where we launch the canoe this 4.5 was the biggest the rest were 1-3lbs 2 being the avg.

Yeah I'm trying to get the video on my phone it keeps saying the data is to big or some crap. If it wasn't for my sunglasses it woulda been in my eye for sure without a doubt.

I thought that so I threw em in the canoe after that and same thing till I tossed it back
