Any Tips On Snagging Lost Rod And Reel Combo ?
I used to use rattle traps I can't even count how many times iv knocked it off or my buddys have knocked poles off the docks I would just tie a trap on and start dragging. There's also the swimming option iv been known to do this for lures and rods. Id mark the spot and comeback with my trunks goggles and pliers

What Will The Fish Do?
Iv found that the bass here regardless of the roller coaster weather are right on schedual with how they were last year it started slower but it seams like there making up lost time. We've had 80 degree days for a few then drop to high 30 low 40s bass seem to be un phazed. Just because the air droped temp quick doesn't mean the water does it takes a while to cool water that dramaticly.

Some Techniques Just Don't Seem To Work.
Another one for me is the drop shot I have such a hard time with it iv caught fish on it but it was when they were destroying anything I threw in the water. So drop shots and deep cranks are my nemesis. It used to be spooks like tholmes till last year now there one of my go to lures.

"if It Aint Raining We Aint Training"
Its not even raining today its that cold misty drizzle its almost worse then a down pour. We got 2 weeks till we get outa the class room and into the field so maybe it will be nicer then. The people I'm seeing come back now though are solid mud from head to toe front and back.

240 m60 there both nasty weapon systems id actually rather be back in my original squad with this unit as a 240 gunner like I was fresh outa basic. I went from the 240 to the 249 saw to the m4. The only bad thing bout the guns is all the spare barrels and the tripods but that's what AGs are for. I definitly don't miss battle drills with the saw the dam bipods would get caught on everything yanking u every which way even with the collapsable stock and short barrels.

Drag??
I set it by feel on my spinning gear but not bc gear bc I crank all the way tight spinning gear iv always done by feel sense I was a kid

"if It Aint Raining We Aint Training"
I carry a m4 because I'm in the turret with the M2 .50cal The saw was badass and sucked all at the same time its not as heavy as the 240B but the 240 didn't replace it no way it could unless we were all jacked like arnold in predator or rambo with the M60s. The saw fires the 5.56 belt fed from a plastic drum the 240b fires 7.62 belt fed from a ammo can or backpack like when I was in weapons squad. The saw is a Squad Automatic Weapon 2 per squad 3 squads per platoon not counting weapons squads. Weapons squad gets 2 m240b one goes with platoon sgt the other goes with platoon leader. This is all coming from infantry grunt stand point. Then u throw in the m203 guys per squad as well. The M203 is the only weapon system I haven't been issued that we use iv only fired them in basic and they were chalk rounds.

"if It Aint Raining We Aint Training"
By the looks of the guys I seen coming out of the field when I arrived at Ft drum today I have the feeling I'm gonna really hate that saying. Its calling for t storms for as far as the forcast goes right now. I'm so glad I don't have the 249 saw any longer because it will be a PITA to clean after these next 19 days.

Weighing Fish
I usually measure them and do the L x L x G / 1200 and I just have a cheapo scale I use some times both are pretty accurate iv found.

Drag??
Hmmm iv always cranked mine down well up I guess in terms of poundage. Iv lost missed hook sets to many times to count cuz I forget to tighten the drag when I get my rods out sense I back the drags off for storage. Same with if I loosen it to pull out a nest and its not all the way tight I go for hook set just to have the drag let line out and guess what no fishy so mines always all the way up or close to it and never had a issue

Colors Bleeding?
I throw some together on purpose to get tie dyed baits and they seem to produce very well for me like flukes I tend to toss in my trigger x bag with green and chart lizards

How Fast Do Bass Grow?
Depends if there Fl strain I heard they grow faster plus the weather and water temp also is a factor. I know here in ny my buddys pond was stocked 6 years ago were just now getting a few in the 4+ range.

Need A Cure?
Strong braid is a must all the spots I fish are packed with grass and lilly pads I wouldent catch hardly any fish if it wasn't for heavy rods and 50lb braid to rip or drag em outa that crap

Horrible Experience With Lipless Cranks
At least it was your hand and not your face like happend to me 2 weeks ago. Personaly I don't really see the need in barbs I don't think that extra 32th of a inch barb is gonna really stop a hook coming out of a fish tearing its mouth up anyways making biger holes usualy then that hook is poking. Look at worm fishing or any plastic I always see big tears in the fishes mouth where the hook was worked back and forth. A lot of times once liped the hooks come out without touching it

Newb Question About "confidence"
Like crestliner said make sure you build confidence in multiple techniques. Its tough I know I have a hard time with it I used to be a all top water guy then plastics guy then jigs. Now I'm trying to get the crank bait thing down but I find it hard to resist a weightless fluke every now and then I crack and start throwing it and usually don't put it down once started. But I mastered the jig thing by takeing 1 pole and one pole only and a box full of jigs and paca craws. It worked took a few outings but by the 3rd outing I was looking at the water visualizing a bass under a dock or tree pitching it in there and bam fish on. Its now one of my most confident presintations second to weightless fluke
