  1. The Fuego CT is every bit as nice as the Tatula CT. Just no t-wing. Worth every penny even at full retail.
  2. Popping frogs? If that is what you meant, it's just fine. One of my go-to baits is a Spro Poppin' Frog. if you meant a popper like a Pop-R or G-Splash, I don't use braid for those and wouldn't. Not for me. I like mono for that style of baits. I throw the Spro Jr. Frogs and t-rigs down to 1/8oz Tungsten + hook/plastic, Senko's, and 1/4oz jigs. I have no issues with the reel handling those. Of course your rod plays a big role in casting light baits also. I like an IROD 733, 744, 754, and 764. I only own 1 SV103XS and it is now my favorite reel. Currently my lineup consists of 1 SV103XS, 5 OG Zillions, 4 Tat CT's, 1 Tat SV, 2 Fuego CT's, and 2 Alphas w/ aftermarket SV spools. I just unloaded 3 Pixies and have owned the Zillion SV, SV105, and OG Steez. The SV103XS is by far my favorite out of all the reels. The Zillion SV was ok, but I'm partial to the OG body style. The SV105 just wasn't my thing, the after market SV spools for the Alphas are much better IMO. As for the Steez, I unloaded it for a mint JDM Zillion. Wish I would have kept the Steez and bought an SV spool for it. Oh well.
  3. Irod Genesis 2 744c paired with a Tat CT 7.3
  4. Daiwa Tat CT, Tat CT SV, and a more economical offering is the Fuego CT. I have the Tat CT and the Fuego CT with the Tat CT SV on the way. I am very impressed with the Fuego so far. Best lightest reel with aluminum frame for the price.
  5. I'm trying out Sunline Super Natural in 16lb. I like it so far. Using on an Irod Stone Cold Swim and Vibrating Jig rod. Just waiting on my Tatula SV to show up to complete the combo.
  6. Under 3/8oz I use the Irod Crusher 733. Over 3/8oz I use the Crusher 764. I used to use the Megabass X4 Destruction. It was just a little to moderate for my liking. I'm thinking of next year, maybe, picking up another Magic Stick, probably in the Air lineup and using that instead of the Crusher 764.
  7. Just bought 2. Less refined, but has that Zillion workhorse/tank feel to it. Time will tell.
  8. Maybe a BPS employee can confirm or correct, but i had heard it had to do with prices and margins.
  9. Can't stay logged in on multiple devices. Error messages and pages won't load. Slow page refreshes. I tried clearing cookies and history. Nothing is making it any better.
  10. whatever is lying around. I have mostly black US reel boxes, but have also had green and white. My Emeraldas is a black box and that is Daiwa AU I believe.
  11. I have the 703 in the Fiber. Traditional MH. It is capable to a 1/2 Oz. But it's sweet spot is 3/16 to 3/8. The 703 won't disappoint. I use mine for flukes, tubes, and light t rigs. I have a bunch of Irods. Crushers, Genesis 2's, and Fibers. I would be happy to answer any questions in the future.
  12. There's a reason why it's called the Magic Stick.
  13. My hookup ratio is in the 90s with the Magic Stick. It's long enough to bomb frogs and set the hook on the far end of the cast. Soft enough tip to walk 'em and moderate enough to fight 'em. Lastly it has more than enough backbone to drag 'em through the thickest slop.
  14. X2 on the Fred's Magic Stick. Also agree that the XH is a good jig rod in heavy wood or other types of thick cover.
  15. Irod Fred's Magic Stick. It's a great frog rod and can double as a flippin/punching rod up to 1.5oz
  16. 60 to 80. 99.9% of the time it's overkill, but that one time when you are trying to turn a 6lber and your line snaps... you will never go light again. I have always used 60lb and up. I have watched guys in my club and other anglers and it's heart breaking to watch
  17. My favorite is a toss up between the Pixy/Alphas/Zillion. All are very fun to fish. Hard to pick just one.
  18. Irod Crusher 733, 734, or 764 I own 733 and 764. The 733 is a great all around rod for 3/16 to 1/2. The 764 is a beast I use it for 7/16 on up. Light and sensitive. You won't be disappointed. These are fast action rods with a solid backbone.
