Going Below Pickwick Dam In The Am.
No but it will be about ready to be in the boat Parking lot at the Botel by Saturday if not Early Friday. Theres 4ft waves crashing into the TVA boat ramp so don't think anyone will be using it unless they are crazy. The water report shows 378.8 ft by Saturday am and at 380 the boat parking area south of the Botel begins to flood. AT 382 waters in the parking at the TVA boat ramp there at the Camp Grounds. Also shows the lake to be above 415 ft by noon on Saturday, Thats getting close to the parking lot at the State park docks. I think 418 and a tad is the highest the lake has been in years. But I know in 1973 it was trying to run over the top of the dam. And the had 9 flood gates wide open as in the bottom gates were also pulled. But in all 21 gates were open. The dam was shaking when we walked out and looked down over the flood gates then. Water came up over 19ft from dark one evening until daylight the next am. Man what a flood it was. Pete

Hand Pouring Worms For A Business??
If you look at it right, theres money to be made. But its in how much tax you can save for owning a small buseness of your own. Plus your fishing time bait,Fuel,Items can be a tax write of also. But remember you have to show a profit in there also.Or its just a hobby. It has saved us thousands per year in taxes we were paying. Plus fishing trips are a tax write off for us. so if we spend 5 days somewhere we get so much per day per meals and rooms or in our case camping fees... So much per mile for the auto. Also if your running it out of your home you can take off a % of all that also. But also remember you have 10% Excise tax on each item you sell or even give away as samples. This comes off the top. Then State tax, Fed Tax and more tax. There will be days you think why am I even trying to do this . If you go this route, keep it fun or it will eat your lunch.

Going Below Pickwick Dam In The Am.
Man what a day, Backed out on the dam. Put in at River Heights at 8am, the fog was thick enough I had to cross the river even then by GPS. Caught 5 big Keeper Sauger, Had 5 throw backs. Bet I lost 5 or more good Sauger about the time you could see them. Lots of white bass and a Few nice Stripers. Biggest Striper was 22" on light spinning rod. Water color is good, guessing I had 24" down to see my fish. But its coming up and swift. Pete

Going Below Pickwick Dam In The Am.
Looks like the waters going to be cooking by Thursday, There showing 173,489. Plus calling for floods Thursday also. So it may well shut the fishing off for a week or so. If they hit the rain like there perdicting. I say it will be in the boat ramp parking lot by the weekend. Looks like some places in Al got 2" or so yesterday. So if we have an extra 2 or 3" of rain higher water it is. Leaving for the river now, Getting a late start. But its only 12 miles to the boat ramp at Savannah. So will put in there and run up river fishign a few holes on the 15 mile run.

Guntersville Winter
Wait until the first weekend of Feb, You can bet it will be bad weather. I have a trip to the Cumberland River. Its always cold and snow. LOL Sounds like you had a great day on the water. Also got to say, I have had more days of crossing that creek on HWY 72 when driving a truck. It would kill me to see people out there fishing while I was working . I do plan on fishing it some day though. Its just one of those spots I have always wanted to fish.

Arig Is Just Another Tool
I remember back in the 70's a few baits that came out, were also being pushed that they would kill the lakes. As they allowed anyone to catch fish. Guess what most of those baits are gone to being only show and tell items..

Do you have a general ideal of what your looking for? I know for me I have always liked my Rem 1100's and my BELIGUM A-5 BROWNING 12 GA with gold trigger. But don't use them anymore.

3 Trips This Week For Sauger, Then A Lost Day.
Did not see any floating or birds feeding in the river. But bad news the river below Pickwick dam is getting muddy, we were at Cravens landing north of Savannah Tn yesterday water was fine. But from about River Heights south toward the dam they say it was muddy. Also they revised the water again, were showing it would start falling today at noon. Now its a slow fall over the next few days. Pete

3 Trips This Week For Sauger, Then A Lost Day.
Yes today was a lost day, Had plans on getting on the water early this morning. But my body had other ideals. It was 6 pm when I loaded the boat last night. Knowing they were going to cut the water back at noon today.I was thinking about getting there early. That would give me 6 hours of fishing before the water starts falling. But my back told me different this morning.. Thats life. Theres always next week.

B.a.s.s. Bans The Alabama Rig
They will make everyone go to only a sinle hook on there crank baits next.. You know at one time people were scared plastic baits were giving people an edge that would deplete the fishery.

M L K Day At Pickwick
Shoot it was not cold yesterday, I was on the water about 9 hours total. But I did have the Artic Armour on with pants and a T Shirt. R/W be careful of that spot, Its caugh a few boats in the high water. Sure not a fun spot when it sneaks up on you. Also I think I may sneek back to the dam Friday and try for some Brown fish. Pete

Limit Of Sauger On The Tn River Today.
Well did not do as good with the Sauger today. But did Catch some small mouth bass ( 5 lbs) on a drop shot rig. And get this it was about as white as your going to see one, 36ft deep clear water and right on a ledge about 14 miles below Pickwick Dam. Found these fish about 20 years ago, While moving today I thought of it. So gave it a try and caught 3 there. The biggest was the 5 lb one the others were 2.5 and 3 lbs. All were light in color. Still a fun day on the water even though the winds were rough. Pete

2 on sauger jigs the rest were on small stick bait. Could have loaded the boat with a drop shot rig. The bass were stacked in there 35 ft deep on a ledge. Going to throw a crank bait and drag it up that drop this morning and see what I can drag up. Wind gust 40 MPH + But will be on the water in 15 minutes. Pete

Limit Of Sauger On The Tn River Today.
Got my limit today, It was tough but did it. Started at 9am and caught the last one at 5pm. Between the heavy current and winds it made for tough fishing. For the most parts I can fish 2 or 3 days between charging my trolling motor battery. But not today, they were getting bad low at the end of the day. Colors that caught fish today, Pink head and blue hair, Black head and blue hair this evening. 1 fish on pink that was short and a keeper. Then swapped over the Black and Blue and had 9 on that. Bite was bad, had one fish to hit hard. Rest were just here, all but one had the jig all in there mouth and one was hooked with the stinger hook. No pictures I have them on Ice will wait and see If I go tomorrow am. If so i will fillet all tomorrow. Also caught 6 Largemouth bass from 5 lbs down. Pete
