I was out helping a friend pre-fish for tomorrow..
Thanks I didn't weigh it and I hate guessing. I was talking about the length .... or is that a common length fish for that size in your area? I know to me it seems like Florida fish are longer than others around the country (except for Avid's 1/2 fish he posts), but that one takes the cake. Looks 30"+

Soprano's Finale
did I miss something? You are assuming that the screen going black was symbolic for Tony's execution? Well, I guess I'm not that clever. To me it looked like they wanted to end it in a way that left people wondering. There was no sense of closure for me. And by the way, he had made peace with Phil's family. They practically set him up for Chrs' sake. So who were the so called whackers and why were they wacking? Nope, if you found brilliance, then I *** you. I found disappointment and a way to resurrect the show or create a movie a la "sex in the city" That's what I thought initially. Tony capped in the head .... no more music, screen goes black. At first I thought it was good ..... then started feeling like most of you. That's what I think, but I guess I don't know for sure and that's what bugs me. There were soooooooo many ways it could have ended. That I can see being brilliant. Just think about the last few minutes how many endings were being foreshadowed. -Suspicious people all over that place that could have whacked Tony - Tony talking about the onion rings .....maybe a heart attack - All the talk about terrorism those last few episodes, maybe the restaurant blew up when Meadow walked in the door - Maybe that suspicious guy put a bullet in Tony's head just as Meadow walks in the door for the whole family to see - Maybe nothing happened and when it comes down to it, they are just a boring family most of the time (but that's not what TV is about :) just like the rest of us A lot of maybes One thing is for sure, there is A LOT of talk about the ending. I am going to assume more so than if there was a definite "closing ending". It will be interesting to see what Chase has to say about this in the hopefully near future.

who golfs around here?
Yeah, it is a little embarrassing because the reason I used that club, was because I couldn't hit it anymore :-[ ;D ;D I actually have one in the bag, but it's my "get out of jail" club. I don't exactly hit it the right way. If I get a descent lie in the rough in the trees, I take a regular swing : and it goes about head high for 50-60 yards with a lot of top spin for roll.

NHRA Drag Races ..... Who's been??? My first
I am telling you in advance if you go ..... the Top Fuels and Funny Cars are LOUD. Even with this fair warning, it will blow you away ...... almost literally. Unbelievable!!!! Also be sure to upwind when they start those things up in the pits ..... unless of course you want to experience Nitro exhaust at least once. It was definitely an "experience" and well worth the price of admission at least once. Oh as far as "Pit Passes" go ..... I don't think there is such a thing. It is a very fan friendly sport. Admission into the Pits was free, at least at Topeka it was. Like I said you can literally stand about a couple arm lengths away from the cars while they prep them and start them. Now all the big teams have a "Sponsors" tent right next to their team's car where there is food, drinks, etc. You have to have tickets to enter those.

who golfs around here?
I used to be obsessed. High School through the first couple years of college I worked at a country club. That was great. Free golf and discounts galore. Then for what ever reason I didn't play for about 3 years and over the past couple months I have started playing again. The fire is starting to burn again. Another VERY expensive hobby :

NHRA Drag Races ..... Who's been??? My first
No kidding. My buddy's dad follows all the different classes and was giving me break downs on what it cost to have a competitive team. What sticks out is the Top Fuel and Funny Car teams .... he said it costs about 3 million a year to have a competitive team. The fuel prices alone are unreal ..... he was saying each one of those cars burn about 40 gallons of Nitro each time down the track at about ohhhhh $120 a gallon. I had no idea the amount of money that floats around that sport. As far as times... I think good runs were in the mid 4's. I think a couple got as low as 4.3's.

NHRA Drag Races ..... Who's been??? My first
Went to my first NHRA drag race today and all I have to say is ..... OMG My main fishing buddy and his family are real "into it" and he has been bugging me forever to go with them when they come to Topeka every year. I really have no interest in it, but today I decided to give it a go. So when we first get there they take me over to the pits for the Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars where you can literally stand about 10 feet from the cars while the crews work on them to prep them for the races. They took me over to John Force's pit (I guess he is like The Man when it comes to funny cars right now) and I had front row seat for when they started it up. Now my buddy's dad was all about me going up there front and center to witness the car starting up. They were telling me how extremely loud it was, but he especially exaggerates things a lot. So I stand up there and the first thing I notice is a lot of the people on the crew were putting on gas masks :-?. I started getting a little concerned, but there were literally 100 people surrounding this pit so I am thinking I must be OK. So they start it up and I guess it was kind of loud .... no biggie. After they have it going for a few seconds I start to see everyone around me plugging there ears ..... I'm like "Oh, it must be too loud for them ..... wimps". And about this time I start to smell the fumes from the Nitro burning. It became pretty hard to breath and my eyes start to feel like they are on fire. I look around for my group and they are no where near me. The fumes start getting real bad and I had to get away ..... just as I turn to get away from the fumes ..... They "goose" the throttle for a split second :o :o Absolutely indescribable sound but more so the feeling. It was more of a sound you feel. I had NO CLUE that was coming. Absolutely scared the crap out of me. I guess when they did that my eyes got huge and I made one of the motions where my hands went up and my body went down like I was going to hit the deck. I finally spot my group and they were all standing back laughing hysterically at me. So I was the joke of the day and I am sure they will be laughing at me for a long time to come. Those Nitro cars as some mean SOBs . We walked through the pits a little more and watched them start up a few more cars .... at a distance this time We walked past John Force's set up on the way out and noticed a very attractive female signing autographs outside the Force pit. I'm thinking that must be some "eye candy" .... Nope, it was John Force's daughter, Ashley Force, and she drives a Funny Car against the big boys :o What a HOTTIE!!!!!! I guess she is good too Danica who??? We walked back over to our seats then to watch the Nitro cars run their first rounds (Top Fuels and Funny Cars). What an experience that is. The sound is unreal (I had ear plugs by this time ) and the feeling in your body when those cars pass you going 300+ is incredible. Something I am glad I experienced. I doubt I will go every year they come to town, but I will be going again. I think it's one of those things you can enjoy from time to time even if you don't really give a hoot about it. So if you have a opportunity to go to one, I would recommend it. You will leave there looking like this ;D

Is it impossable with a B Caster
Like others have said, it's definitely easier at first with spinning gear. Practice, practice, practice. A couple things that helped me ...... 1) I found it easier to use backhand cast when skipping (almost like pitching but more of a 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock whip instead of 6 to 12) 2) Found this one out on accident after getting the backlash from hell (while skipping docks) that had me removing about 1/2 spool of line. I found that with about a 1/2 spool of line, skipping became much easier. Not sure what is behind this, but it honestly works.

Your Worst Fishing Injury
Not really an injury but .... Falling in 40 something degree water with no pfd. Luckily I had just launched the boat and was basically still on the boat ramp. The water was only 4 ft deep so I could stand, but even that took all I had. Your body just doesn't work when water is that cold. It was a real eye opening experience. Went home took a warm shower and immediately went to get a auto-inflate PFD that I now wear at all times until the water at least reaches the 60's.

My Lake Fork Video (w/Tom Redington)
I have it now too. It's A LOT different than Windows, but it's pretty easy once you get where everything is. I have completed one video (a family friend's wedding) and have about 80% of my first 2007 video. I need about a minute more of footage. If I don't get it in the next couple weeks I am just going to cut it short. Cool tip about the mic

Baby Rabbits in yard...
Found a clump of them the other day in my yard as well ......dead. I am guessing it was cats. Very small puncture wounds. I have a dog, but I don't think a 100 lbs lab would have been as "neat".
