Truth
Wind is a must for me when I'm fishing coontail that is matted in large clumps on the surface. The backside of the mat is out of the wind and the bass will usually be sitting in that still water waiting for forage on the surface to get blown by.

My wife's latest creation
Wow! I'd feel bad about cutting into that.

Do you have a preferred pocket knife while on the water?
This or a Buck Ranger.

Favorite Bait Cast Reel Speed For Walk-The Dog Top Water Lures ?
6.3:1 is what I use.

Chatterbait & Crankbait Setup
I have a 7'0" mh/f that acts more like a mh/m. I use that rod for crankbaits and chatterbaits both. I keep the weights between 1/4 and 1/2 oz.

Fall Plastic Worms ?
Around here the worm bite is not very aggressive, but fairly constant. I'll feel one good tap and then nothing. Over the years I've learned when I feel a bite like that to just stop and dead stick the worm. Usually in 5 to 10 seconds the bass will come back and pick up the worm and start swimming off with it. If not I bring the bait back in and make another cast.

Line for my jig set up?
I've been using 15# big game for years. I don't have any problems in cover unless I snag a tree limb or plant stalk.

Crankbaits what do you carry?
I always have probably around 12 to 15 crankbaits in the box this time of year. They always seem to be the same ones. KVD 1.5, Mann's one minus, and some Cordell spots fished on a 7'0" mh/f, or a 6'6" m/f rod

Winter 2021/22
This fall I've caught several catfish up shallow. The last time I caught them this way was 5 or 6 years ago and we had a very cold winter.

I found out how some guys are casting 100 yards
With the backing on the spool, I don't think I have 100 yards of line on the reel.

bass fishing
Just based off of water temp and depth I'd use a lipless crankbait, or a spinnerbait.

What's your method of cracking-the-code on a new lake?
The first thing I do try to find out all I can online about the body of water. I look at lake reports, maps, and I look through youtube videos to see how others have fished the lake, and what their take on it was. After I get out on the water I look at water clarity, and worry about the weather. The last thing I do is go to the places I found on the maps and look for places that might hold bass.

Allergies
I've suffered with allergies all of my life. This year was one of the worst years I can remember. I tried allergy shots back when I was younger, and the first one about did me in. No more of that stuff. I've also tried a lot of over the counter meds through the years. Some of those dried my sinuses out too much and caused sinus infections. Now I pretty much stick to Claritin. That seems to work the best for me.

Your Tackle Choice
They are tools used to catch fish. I will usually start out fishing with baitcasting gear. If the bass don't like those baits I will switch over to spinning gear. There are some days that all of my bass are caught on spinning gear, some days the bass are all caught on baitcasting gear, and some days I catch bass on both.

Texas rig: pegged or free weight
I don't think I have ever pegged a weight.

Jerkbait attitude
Sometimes I have better luck if I just retrieve it like a minnow lure.

Mojo\slipshot rig questions...
I fish with a 4" worm, or a 3" BPS Stiko. I don't fish with anything bulky, but If the bass seem like they are a little more active I'll fish with a 4" senko.

How do you fish a pond that is almost entirely filled with grass?
If you're going to try and fish deep your only choice is either finding holes to let your bait fall in to, or punching through the weeds. For fishing above the weeds I would use a weightless fluke, senko, or trick worm. A shallow running crankbait like a 1 minus will work if you can keep the treble hooks clear of the vegetation.

Battery issue
Is the battery charger working correctly?

*MVL* Most Valuable Lure for 2020?
This year it has to be a crankbait. From the first of May until the end of August the bass were absolutely hammering them on every trip.

NHRA Pro Drag Racing
The first drag race i went to I thought my eardrums would rupture. Then the cars stopped and you could hear the car alarms going off out in the parking lot.

Ultralight bass fishing technique
I have a 5'0" ultralight spooled with 4# line. I'll take a 1/16 jighead and thread on a nightcrawler just like a plastic worm. Redear and bluegill are a blast on it. I don't use it for bass fishing for the reasons that @WRB gave above.

Spinnerbait Blade Colors
I have good luck with nickel or painted blades. Gold and copper have never really produced that well for me.

Best fall conditions
I want it cloudy, maybe sprinkles off and on, calm wind, and the temp not to move much. Some of my best fall days fishing was when the low temp and high temp were no more than 10 degrees apart.
