Jig fishing in Winter
Thanks Glenn. Good tip on the light bites. Over the years I've noticed that when the water is cold the bass will give the bait a quick bite and then back off from it. If you stop the bait and let it drop to the bottom then the bass will come back and pick it up.

A Job You Love vs. A Job That Pays Well
Both, and neither. Any job you get that you love, you can end up hating in a heartbeat if the management is bad. Doesn't matter what the pay is. Best thing to do is get into a job field that is not unique to only one company, or a small number of companies. Then, while you're young, you can find a place you like and that pays well, and start building a future with them.

My Most Productive Baits ~ 2021 Edition
This year was one of the best for numbers and size. Crankbaits, jigs, plastic worms, topwater, and spinnerbaits all caught multiple bass in the 4+ pound range, but I just couldn't break the 5 lb mark. Crankbaits brought in most of the numbers in spring and summer, but the bite started to slow down in the fall. Jigs, plastic worms, and spinnerbaits are still producing, but the bite has tapered down quite a bit since the weather cooled. Topwater baits were killer in the vegetation this summer just after first light before it got hot. Pictured are the top producers from each category.

Underrated baits?
<- Cordell Big-O. I don't see a lot of anglers using these anymore, but they still work good.

Boaters casting over shore fishermen
Last year I was fishing a 65 acre lake. I was anchored over a drop off and casting into a little pocket where I was catching dinks on a spook. I kept hearing splashing right behind me and thought at first it was shad. I turned around and there were two guys in another boat casting toward my boat. I asked them not too nicely to stop before they hit me. They just waved and moved on. I guess they ticked off more people besides me because about an hour later I saw them at the boat ramp.

Shoulder Surgery
First thing I would do is get a second opinion. Second thing I would do is get clarification on recovery time. When I had my first shoulder surgery they said a recovery time of 6 weeks. Turned out that was the time I was in a sling. I had 2 months of PT after that because it was my dominant side that had the surgery.

If you were the expert...what topic?
Probably on how it sucks to be in here giving a seminar when I could be out fishing.

Snaps on Hard Baits?
I've always used snaps directly to split rings on all of my hard baits.

You have 4 days for a guys fishing trip…WHERE and WHEN would you go?!
I’d go sometime in the summer to a lake that had plenty of coontail and milfoil. Between now and then I’d be doing research.

I finally did it, I cancelled my facebook account
I thought about getting a fb account a few years ago. I didn’t do it.

Fluke/senko/soft plastic rod specs
Most of the time for flukes and senkos I’m fishing with a mh/f rod because of the weight of the bait. I fish weightless plastic worms on a m/f rod since they are usually a bit lighter.

Man, I'm lucky, because I was STUPID!!!!!
I never drank to excess or got into experimenting with drugs, which is probably a good thing because when I got my drivers license I had a real heavy lead foot. I use to love to open her up on the highway and I hit the century mark more than a few times. I finally slowed down when one of my friends passed away in a wreck and quite a few more had to sell their cars because of accidents.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Yesterday it warmed up into the low 60's. This is the largest of the day at 4-03 lb. It hit a RES that I was casting across a creek channel.
