Rod power for T-Rig and small jigs
I fish jigs on a mh/f rod. Everything from 1/8 to 1/2 ounce. I fish t-rigs on a mh/f rod also. Sometimes I need that extra muscle to drive the hook home when the line is going behind, or around, a piece of cover. Unless I'm punching I have 15# Big Game spooled on the reel.

Clear vs Green
I never noticed a difference. Now all I use is green.

Anyone throwing Manns jelly worms ?
An 8" grape jellyworm is one of my summertime staples.

Cold water finesse jig
Either a Zoom Large Salty Chunk or a Zoom Super Chunk.

The never ending quest to improve
I like to try new baits and new techniques. I don't like to be restricted to one or two presentations when I'm out on the water.

Merry Christmas everyone!

New Bait Infatuation
Last year it was jerkbaits, this year it's swim jigs.

Early Spring: Lipless & Squarebill Tips?
Most of the vegetation has usually died off around here by now so I look for structure like creek channels, drop offs, rip rap, underwater humps, and man made points. I'll cast parallel to the structure so I can keep the bait along side it for longer.

Are You Fast or Sloooowwwww?
I fish slow most of the time, but if the bass don't bite I start reeling in a little faster.

Diminishing returns.
I try and replace my reels after 10 years or so, before they break down and I'm forced to get new ones. I've replaced my older rods because the newer ones are made with more modern materials, but the old rods are still quite usable.

Love the wind.
Around here moving baits always work better with a little wind.

Springtime Prep & Plan of Attack!
After much trial and error over the years I've learned that fishing with a lipless crankbait, senko, crankbait, spinnerbait, chatterbait, and jig will yield the best results.

Private Lakes - DNR Stocked - Fishing Rights
We have some parks in the area like this. The city owns everything in the park, but the lake, because it is stocked by the conservation dept. Conservation dept. rules apply to the lakes they stock.

Medium Light Fast Rod Uses
I like to use ml/f for panfish if the bass aren't biting.

Colors that disappointed you...
I've got 5 or 6 bags of plastics in that color. I'll take them out and get them wet a few times a year, but I never catch anything on them.

Winter struggle.
If the bass are hitting tubes on the bottom then I'd be casting a jig and craw, or a Texas rig.

Colors that disappointed you...
Gold, PB&J, motor oil, and tequila sunrise are some I can think of right off the top my head. The only baits in firetiger that I can catch fish on are crankbaits.

The Best Of The Old Ones
I have a Shakespeare 2200 II reel that I used for over 30 years before I found out that I couldn’t get parts for it any longer. I’ve got my dad’s old 300. He used that reel to fish for bass and cat for years. Today’s reels are much lighter and it’s nice to close the bail by hand instead of having to wind the reel to close it.

Soft Plastic Colors
Black/blue, junebug, watermelon candy, watermelon red, watermelon w/ gold flake, and black w/ red flake. I use certain colors for certain baits, but this usually rounds out the colors in my bag.

Buzzbaits
I use several brands of buzzbaits. I’ve added paddletails a few times when the skirt has gotten beat up, but I’ve never noticed a difference in the bite.

Those painful pet peeves!
Driving to the lake at 4:00 AM and get behind someone that either has no lights on at all, or just has their headlights on.
