  1. I bought a different make and model a few years ago. I was very surprised how accurate the gauge was.
  2. Hope you have a quick and easy recovery. I would have to fish each day of the month to equal one of your trips.
  3. RIP Ozzy. One of the greats.
  4. BR flea market would be my first choice. If you don't want to go that route, there are auction sites you could use. Around here they also used to have a couple of used tackle stores.
  5. I use to do it for cat-fishing. I never have for bass.
  6. Black / Blue for stained or slightly stained water. Green Pumpkin for clear water. Black for muddy water. Honorable mentions include Watermelon / Brown and Brown / Orange.
  7. When I'm finished fishing and putting everything in the basement, then the drag gets loosened. I tighten down the drag when taking out of the basement. After a while it becomes habit.
  8. Skitter pop, Pop-R, Tiny Torpedo, and the Zara Puppy.
  9. It has to be hollow bodied frogs. The bass around here just won't come out of the vegetation after a frog. When I do catch a frog bass I can't tell if it was a feeding bite, or a reaction strike.
  10. Oh man! I though fishing was supposed to be relaxing.
  11. I try not to think about it too much, but sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I had used a different style or color of bait. Hindsight is 20/20.
  12. You've caught some nice looking bass!
  13. My bait casters either have 15 or 10 lb depending on the bait I am fishing with. One spinning reel has 10 lb on it and the second has 8 lb. For bass fishing I don't go lighter than 8 lb.
  14. Jig and craw.. Both bottom contact and swim jig.
  15. It depends on how many fishy places I see on the way back.
  16. If the bait isn’t too torn up I put it back in the package to be used again. If the bait is really torn up I try to use it for a trailer, or I just pitch it when I get home.
  17. Your dinks don’t look anything like the dinks around here. I think I like yours better.
  18. That is crazy!
  19. Where I am fishing this time of year, the bass are hanging around submerged vegetation and are spooky due to fishing pressure. In the winter and early spring the bass will be moving more.
  20. As long as the bass stayed hooked and didn’t wrap me around something I think I would be able to land a 15 pounder. I’ve caught carp well over 15 lbs so I know my tackle could handle it.
  21. Even if I get skunked it fun to watch the bucket anglers. You never know what can happen.
  22. I've seen some young people filming. Why anyone would want to record in some of the ponds I fish is beyond me.
