  1. This time of year I’ll be using a lipless crankbait.

You’re got some nice catches there.
  3. How big are those rocks? If they are gravel size you can crawl a jig across them very slowly.
  4. I fish a lot of pressured water and over the years that is how I’ve learned to fish cover. The bass won’t come out of the stuff so I don’t work the bait all the to the boat unless I’ve got cover all the way to the boat. Once I have the bait away from the cover I reel it on in.
  5. I've never used a ned rig. I'd rather use a finesse jig instead.
  6. I have them every once in a while. It's just one thing after another all day long. On those days I'm happy when I finally get home and pull back into the driveway.
  7. As of today they have closed 5 parks in Missouri due to the amount of people in the parks.
  8. I'm waiting for them to close down our parks completely. They have already closed down sections of the parks because there were too many people and not enough social distancing. If yesterday was any indication then the lakes will be next.
  9. Man, those are some hawgs!
  10. I went fishing yesterday off of the bank. No way I was getting out in a boat with a sustained 20+ mph wind and gusts in the high 30's to 40's. Look at it as a learning experience that you can share with others.
  11. Yes sir, I've learned a lot from this site over the years.
  12. I use 1/2 ounce Cordell spots, and Rat-l-traps the most. If I'm fishing off of the bank I will sometimes use a 1/4 ounce for a slower fall. In the fall sometimes the bass will go after a 3/4 trap better than the 1/2 ounce size.
  13. When you're fishing a jig with a trailer you can change the trailer and have a completely different bait. I don't remember where I heard this, but it was probably on this website.
  14. I use a 2/0 or a 1/0 EWG hook and rig it like a t-rig. Instead of a bullet weight I use a split shot about a foot up the line.
  15. I fish with the 6” and 4” sizes. When I’m fishing a split shot rig I use the 3” size.
  16. Good catching!
  17. It took me months to figure out a jig. I wouldn’t get bites and when I did I would miss the bass. Then one day everything fell into place and now I always have one tied on. The chatter bait was just the opposite. I saw it in the tackle bag tied it on and started catching bass. I probably fish a chatter bait more than a spinner bait now.
  18. I like using red or orange when the water is very murky or muddy. Doesn’t matter what time of year.
  19. If the temp in the morning is in the high 30’s I’m good. When the temp is down in the 20’s I stay home. Afternoon summer temps in the high 90’s no problem.
  20. Have you had consistent days with warm weather? If you have I would go shallow. If not, or you’ve had a cold snap in the middle of warm weather I would go deep.
  21. My mom and dad grew up in the Great Depression. They never got rid of anything as long as it had an ounce of life in it. If something broke the plan was always to try and fix it before buying a replacement.
  22. This was how I was taught to rig up a t-rig.
  23. 5 to 10 is perfect. Now all you need is a flat and some vegetation.
  24. That's a great trip!
