Scent on hands
I’ve noticed over the years the my scent on the baits seem to matter more in the summer. Not sure if the cold is hiding my scent or the bass just take longer to process the scent because of the cold.

Catching Bass from the Back Seat
I know a lot of guys with boats that have transom mounted motors. They run them backwards for better control.

Open your eyes
I like to stop the boat and just stand still for a couple of minutes looking down at the water to see what is swimming around down there. People always think that I dropped something in the lake.

Your Old Standards
I still have some Creme 6" scoundrel worms. Grape was always the color I had the best luck with. A Cordell Big-O was the first artificial lure I caught a bass on. I like the 1/4 and 1/3 oz sizes. They don't make the size in my profile pic any longer. Probably a good thing since cranking with it use to tire me out.

Fishing just for the heck of it
I get out and enjoy nature when I go fishing in the winter. I don't expect to catch anything, I can slow down and look around. When I go fishing in the warmer weather I want to catch bass.

Dealing with inexperienced anglers
When my kids were old enough and wanted to go fishing I realized right away that these were not going to be regular trips. These trips were going to be outings where we could make memories and just enjoy ourselves.
