  1. If I’m fishing a pressured lake then I will use a bait I have had luck with in the past. I’ll change up the retrieve and presentation before I will change baits.
  2. Mann's one minus, Cordell Big-o, and KVD crankbaits are a staple for me.
  3. Congratulations! I remember when I turned 50, no wait I can't..
  4. Black/blue 3/8 oz jig with a Zoom sapphire super chunk trailer.
  5. I use to fish tubes a lot and I had good luck with them around deep vegetation. I probably need to start fishing with them more this year.
  6. When I started fishing with jigs I missed tons of fish until I started watching the line. Not to detect a bite, but to figure out what that bass was doing. The easy bass were the ones that hit hard and would run with the jig. The hard bass were the ones that would strike at the jig to try and kill it, and then drop it to see if it was dead or not. After they were sure the bait was dead they would pick it up and start to swim off with it.
  7. Largemouth - 6 lb 2 oz on a jitterbug Smallie - haven't caught one big enough to weigh yet.
  8. I’m bummed out no matter how the fish gets off.
  9. Didn’t actually catch it, but a couple of years ago I was fishing a lake that sees heavy fishing pressure and a lot of picnickers. I started casting to what I thought was some kind of metal marker set out from the bank. Turned out it was an baby stroller. Once I figured out what it was it took a little while for me to actually look inside it.
  10. Just saw this. RIP.
  11. Man I thought the stuff I punched through was thick. I start off with the weight snug and tight up. If I start picking up vegetation between the bait and the weight then I will loosen it up a little.
  12. I have a couple of Luckycraft pointers, and Rapala X-Raps. I stopped buying them when I inherited a bunch of Smithwick rogues. I think I catch more on the rogues anyway.
  13. Mister Twister 2" Sassy Shad. I usually fish them on a 1/8 oz jig head. Once in a while I will fish them under a bobber.
  14. Good looking boat. You're doing a heck of a job.
  15. It's about 55 here, clear, but windy. Figures on a nice weekend I would have my reels out getting cleaned.
  16. Welcome to the forums!
  17. Fish with hard jerk baits more often. I probably only use them 1 or 2 trips a year and then forget about them.
  18. I have had no luck at all using plug knockers. I started using a telescopic lure retriever about 4 years ago with much better results.
  19. I start with 2" baits get 1/8 oz, 3" baits get 1/4 oz, and 4" baits get 3/8 oz. I'll change it up depending on cover and water depth.
  20. When I fish rock piles I circle the rock pile and cast into it from different directions. I will be slowly dragging a jig and craw along keeping contact with the bottom the entire time.
  21. Zoom super chunk, super chunk jr., or an ultravibe speed craw. I always rig them normal.
  22. Happy New Year Bass Resource!
  23. I’m going to pull a late nighter tonight. The Twilight Zone marathon is on the syfy network. I’ll probably be up until 11:00 or so.
  24. 2017 Camry which is my daily driver. I keep a spare tire, jumper cables, tools for changing the tire, rubber boots, telescopic lure retriever, and a rain suit in the trunk. For fishing trips the tackle bag goes in the back seat, battery and trolling motor goes in the trunk, and rods lay across the front seat into the back.
