Lures you would use a snap with?
I use snaps with everything except bottom contact baits, plastics, and certain topwater baits.

Nighttime suggestions
At night with quiet, still water I like some noise. I'll usually start off with a black jitterbug and work it just fast enough so I can feel it through my rod. If I don't hear any fish jumping then I start moving down the water column.

First times for 2019?
This soft water season has had a couple of milestones for me. First time I have only been skunked once. Keeping my fingers crossed for the rest of the season. First year I've been able to fish almost every weekend during the season.

For the Bank fisherman: How many hours do you fish?
Anywhere from 4 to 7 depending on the bite, the weather conditions, and my honey do list.

Never should have happened
Around here they fly down the lane being worked on and then wait to merge at the last second. No regard for the workers or the other vehicles.

Vertigo Attack
I had vertigo off and on last year all through the summer and fall. Doctor was not sure if it was the crystals or a sinus infection that got into my ears. If you have an infection you’ll feel it, but if it’s the crystals you’ll have to wait until your body breaks them down.

Craw
If I’m fishing a senko in weeds, I go weightless. If I’m fishing a senko in fairly open water then I use a weight. I always use a weight with a craw.

How would you fish a 50 degree temp swing?
Around here in the fall a 25-30 degree shift in air temps will shut the bite down. I have better luck when the day’s high and low is close together.

Bite sucked today
Last weekend I got one dink in two days of pond fishing. I’m hoping when the temps start to stabilize a little the fishing will pick back up.

Favorite chunk trailer
Zoom big salty chunk and super chunk.

Weed killer ruins ponds
A couple of years ago a lake near me was treated to kill excessive amounts of coontail. Now the only vegetation in the lake is around the shore. The bottom is pretty much clear of all vegetation, the water has gone from clear to murky, and the bass bite has dropped off to almost nothing. You can see 5 or 6 bait balls come up every once in a while, so I’m not sure if the decrease in bass bites is because the bass can feed easier or if it’s from the change in the water.

What is the biggest danger a bass boater faces?
Weather, other boaters, stuff either floating in the water or just under the surface. Take your pick.

What size line would you use for crankbaits, jerkbaits, topwater?
I use 6 lb, 10 lb, and 15 lb mono. Which line on which rig depends on the size of the bait and where I will be fishing that bait.
-
Line Weight for Lipless Cranks
15 lb mono for 1/2 ounce lipless baits, and 10 lb mono for 1/4 ounce lipless baits.

Bearly Fishing
I’m guessing that bear wasn’t too hungry.

IT IS SO ON!
It's 93 right now. Tomorrow's high will be in the low 70's. I'm glad it's cooling down, but I'm more glad that the front is not coming through during the weekend.

How do you navigate lakes with stumps?
When fishing stumpy, murky water, I fish when the sun is out. It makes the stumps a little easier to see. Keep the boat as light as possible so if you do run up on a stump you can shift the weight around in the boat and hopefully lift off of the stump.

High, muddy water
How high is the water? This past April the bass were up in the flooded bushes. They were going after crankbaits running parallel to the flooded bushes.

Lightest line for T-Rig?
I won’t go less than 10 lb for light t-rigs on a spinning rig.

My wife saw me do something that made her concerned
At least you didn’t kiss the bass before you released it.
