  1. My favorite currently in production is the Mann's 1- in gray ghost or fireshad. Brown Craw is also a good color around here. My all-time favorite shallow running bait is the Storm sub-wart.
  2. One of my relatives use to make topwater and shallow running baits out of dowels. I think they were more for show than actually fishing with.
  3. Sometimes when I go fishing I just want to catch numbers, and sometimes I want to catch the biggest bass in the lake. It doesn't matter if I'm in a boat or off the bank those are my goals. I'll adjust my gear and tactics for the day according to how I will be fishing.
  4. Currently I have Daiwa, Abu, and Shimano bc reels. My spinning reels are all Pfluegers.
  5. I use 1/16, 1/8, 3/16, and 1/4 ounce the most.
  6. I really started fishing with a split shot rig this year and on several trips it kept the skunk off of me. I used either a Zoom finesse worm or a 3” BPS Stiko.
  7. I have a couple of wide brim straw hats that I wear when it gets really hot out.
  8. My Dad. I miss him every time I get out on the water.
  9. ^^This. I have some state conservation lakes, some city lakes, and a few lakes that are maintained by the county within an hours drive of my house. On a given day no two will fish the same. When I decide to go fishing I pick the lake or pond, based on weather, time of year, cover or structure, and how I feel that day. I'll also go back and look over my fishing logs.
  10. Only my punch rig has braid on it now. The other baitcasters all have mono on them.
  11. I've never used Izorline, so I'm going to say Big Game. I tried CXX a couple of years ago. It was a strong line, but I felt like I was fishing with piano wire.
  12. Most of my reels are filled with mono. A spool will last me about 3 months give or take a couple of weeks.
  13. This year I broke down an bought a KVD crankbait. I'll probably be buying more.
  14. Nice catching!
  15. Nice December bass.
  16. Congratulations that is quite an accomplishment!
  17. There have been some 8 lb and 9 lb bass caught locally, but it seems that those bass are hitting baits that they haven't seen in a while. The bigger baits seem to be more productive in the fall when the bass are feeding for winter.
  18. My favorite is a jig. This year's runner-up is a 1/2 ounce lipless crankbait.
  19. To go through my plastics and get rid of the ones that are torn up and otherwise damaged. I have a bad habit of saving used plastics for jig trailers.
  20. Welcome to the forums.
  21. I like a white or silver 1/16 rooster tail. I’ve caught bluegill, crappie, and bass on those things.
  22. My first bass on a worm was a Creme Scoundrel when I was about 11 or 12. I remember I kept trying to reel the worm in like a crankbait.
