  1. That bass is huge! Congrats!
  2. I think the weather has the bass screwed up around here. They don't know what season it is. One day it's in the 80's, and the next day the high is in the 60's. Then the temps are back into the 80's again.
  3. It's just starting to cool off here. Next week highs in the 60's and 70's.
  4. Heavy jig dragged along the bottom, or throw out a rat-l-trap, or a bladed jig, and let it sink down to the bottom.
  5. I usually only use rat-l-traps and super spots. One of those two always seem to work.
  6. I have two premier casting rods, and love them. The next rod I buy will be another St. Croix.
  7. As long as water is somewhat clear, I would try using a weightless fluke. Let it sink down to the bottom, and start working it back slowly.
  8. In clear water I start with greens, browns, grays, and blues. In muddy water I start off with orange, chartreuse, and black.
  9. Congratulations! Sounds like a great trip!
  10. I would have gone to the lake and fished for largemouth. I like to fish around rain run off that flows into the lake. In muddy water I like red or orange rat-l-trap.
  11. Nice going! I'm always surprised when I catch a nice bass in a pond where I have always caught dinks in. I wonder if someone put the bass in the pond, or if it grew there naturally.
  12. Nice catching!
  13. I've had pretty good luck with orange crankbaits in muddy water.
  14. It depends on which way the wind is coming from, and how hard it is blowing.
  15. Zoom ultravibe speedcraws have been working pretty consistently all year. Super hogs usually work pretty well for me, but for some reason the bass have not been wanting them lately.
  16. A majority of the bass I have caught this year have been around vegetation or lily pads. There has been no single bait that has out performed the others. I just keep casting until I find what the bass want.
  17. This right here. I have also had good luck with the jointed minnow.
  18. Fishing around here picked up in early September when it cooled off. Mid September when the temps when back up the bass shifted back into summer mode.
  19. Nice going! It really gets you going when that big splash comes!
  20. Down here in Mo. you can fish up until the lake freezes over. Some of the lakes and ponds run late, and their fall bite starts in November.
  21. Congratulations!
  22. What kind of mono is it? 10 pound Big Game on a spinning reel can be a mess, but I've never had much of a problem with Trilene on a spinning reel.
