  1. I have a couple of poppers that have silver sides and a black top. I use them in low light conditions, and in bright sunlight, depending on the cover I am fishing around.
  2. Nice smallie on a cold day.
  3. Me too.
  4. 3/8 Strike King Redeye spinnerbait, but over the past couple of years I have started fishing with bladed jigs more than spinnerbaits.

Suppose to be in the 40s tomorrow, but it will take more than a day to get the ice off the water.
  6. Way to nail it!
  7. I go swimming every chance I get. I have had to swim when the boat launched without me, and to retrieve a rod.
  8. The Emoji Movie
  9. I learned by casting a big crankbait. Not to keep the line straight, but because it was easy to see as it was going out. Practice thumbing the spool while the bait is going out so you can get a sense of how fast the spool is letting out line.
  10. We’re having a heat wave today! Temp is 26 F!
  11. So sorry for your loss.
  12. I usually use only 1/8, 3/8, and 1/2 ounce jigs. I keep them in the box based on rows and columns. The same color goes in a row, and the same size goes down the columns.
  13. Nice going in that cold!
  14. For the past few years it has been a jig and craw.
  15. Crappie, sunfish, and largemouth bass totaled 182. It was kind of an off year. No muskie, smallies, or spots in 2017.
  16. Welcome to Bass Resource!
  17. That wind chill puts a whole different spin on things.
  18. No, I just do a full cleaning every year between Christmas and New Year's Day. I check them about every 3 months and oil, and grease, as needed. The line is easy. All my baitcast reels get 15 pound line, the spinning reels get 10 pound line, and the ML and UL rigs get 6 pound line.
  19. Happy New Year!
  20. Happy New Year!
  21. Bass Resource, watching YouTube videos of other people fishing, tinkering around with my baits and tackle, bait and tackle websites, and looking at google maps for the shortest distance to new fishing spots.
  22. On really hot days I wear a straw hat with a 4” brim on it. It keeps the sun off and the air flows through the straw. I wear a buff on my head because the straw gets kind of scratchy after a while. I’m not sure what brand it is. My Dad bought it several years ago, and it didn’t have a label in it.
  23. Reels are almost all cleaned and oiled. Most of the hooks are sharpened. Rods are all wiped down and cleaned off. Tackle bag has been cleaned out and reorganized. Now all I have to do is wait 8 to 10 more weeks for the warm weather to come back.
  24. It's all about fishing with equipment that makes you happy. The bass could care less.
