Girth and using the weight estimator...
I need a scale. My math skills make that formula useless.

Where to put the scale when weighing a fish
I weigh them through the gill plate, but before I do I always let them flop around a little. I want them tired out so they won't hurt themselves while getting weighed.

Close Encounters of the 4-Legged Kind
Deer, foxes, coyotes, and racoons in my neighborhood. When I head to southern Mo. to fish streams I keep my eyes open for bears.

Learning to fish
Don't try and learn too many techniques at once. Get good at one and see if you like it then move to the next.

Does this happen to you with a new presentation?
When I was learning how to fish a jig I went seven months with no bite. I watched videos, and read how to fish them, but nothing. Then one day I started catching bass on a jig and I couldn't figure out what I was doing different. After a while I quite trying to figure it out.

Last October and November I had cat hitting crankbaits left and right. I got this one Saturday deadsticking a green pumpkin craw.

Tube Baits
I like the Zoom tubes also. I usually t-rig them with the smallest weight I have and fish them in the milfoil.

Fishing Dream
When I was in college I use to have dreams where I would walk into a class and realize that I had missed the entire semester for that class. I use to get up in the middle of the night and double check my schedule to make sure I was ok.

Moving Baits, Hard vs. Soft
Flukes work better for me in clearer water. I like to work them across the top of the milfoil. I use crankbaits when the water is dirty or muddy. I think the rattles help the fish find the bait.

Finally something decent.
Nice one!
