  1. That is what it's all about. I love taking my daughter fishing.
  2. Both. Baits with trebles tend to get hung up pretty quick.
  3. I have been using poppers, shallow running cranks, weightless flukes and senkos, and small jigs. The growth looks like mixture of vegetation with some algae thrown in. Water depth is about 1 to 5 feet deep depending on how close you are to the creekbed. Vegetations is matted on the surface and goes down below the surface maybe a foot. This is a picture of the creekbed area. I usually just lift up the motor and let the wind push me across.
  4. I am in the St. Louis area. I have been doing pretty good on topwaters and jigs. Plastics, not so much.
  5. I've caught rocks, mussels, and every once in a while I pull in a dead fish.
  6. I have been letting the bait settle on the bottom for a few seconds then I give it a few hops like a jig. After that I slow roll it back in.

I fish them in water 1 to 10 feet deep. If there is overcast or a lot of vegetation I fish them all day long.
  8. Glad everything is working out. It stinks to have to deal with something like getting robbed.
  9. If you don't go you will be kicking yourself tomorrow night.
  10. Rat-l-trap. The muskie love them in the lake I fish.
  11. What has that thing been eating!
  12. Take it back and get another one. A reel you just bought shouldn't do that.
  13. Dang it. Now I'm going to have to change my avatar again.
  14. Congrats on the new PB! That is a nice looking bass!
  15. I guess he allowed for the wind.
  16. Never customized a rod or reel.
  17. Every time I go to work I wish I were out fishing.
  18. Unless you hit the lottery, or inherit a bunch of money, that is pretty much how things will go. That's why you need to find out what you like to do and get a job in that field.
  19. I use t-rig most of the time. If t-rig is not working then I will rig a worm wacky style. Usually one of the two works.
  20. It depends on where I am fishing. The lakes around where I live get very heavy fishing pressure. A five fish bag may be 7 to 10 pounds on average. If I want to be sure to catch a big girl then I have to drive.
  21. Nice going! That cover looks great.
  22. If the wind is blowing a little that can usually push the boat across the top without having to turn on the motor. I raise the motor up so that it does not catch weeds and they stay out of the prop.
  23. Little bass fell off before I could get it into the boat. Hopefully that bass will grow up to be a hawg.
  24. Yesterday I was fishing a lake with a lot of vegetation growing in it. So I am throwing a 1/4 ounce Mann's 1 minus, and working it around the weed lines. I cast out maybe 50 or 60 feet and I feel a thump like a bite, but I have nothing pulling on the other end, so I am thinking that I hit the top of some plant. I get the crankbait where I can see it, and there is a bass about 8" long on the back hook. The crankbait was wobbling just like there was nothing on it, and the little bass was getting whipped back and forth by the motion of the lure. The whole thing looked like a big swimbait.
