  1. Have you fished with braid in that lake before? How much fishing pressure does that lake see? I would try tying on a leader, and down sizing the baits a little.
  2. I usually wear a wide brim straw hat, buff, and put plenty of sunscreen on my arms, legs, and neck.
  3. Watch out for ticks in high grass.
  4. As long as the line is going into the mouth I don't think it will be a problem.
  5. Wow! That's a nice bass.
  6. Good going! Now it's time to get a bigger tackle bag.
  7. I prefer both. What I usually do on a trip down to one of the big lakes is head out early before sunup. Come back in around 9 and grab some breakfast. Take a nap and hit the water around 4 or so.
  8. Congrats on the new family member.
  9. Nice work! Thanks for all the pics!
  10. WTG! Sounds like a good nights work!
  11. I think what I remember best is putting suntan lotion on to keep the sun off, and coming home burnt to a crisp.
  12. I have seen people fishing off of the boat ramp multiple times. On more than one occasion I have had to say "excuse me I need to pull the boat in here". You can be getting ready to launch or leave, and it doesn't matter these people will not get out of the lawn chair.
  13. Going to the ER to get a hook removed from my hand. Not one of my favorite trips.
  14. I usually use a c-rig, with a 1/2 ounce weight, if I am fishing on the bottom. If I am using a bobber I'll go a little lighter.
  15. I had an old BPS lazereye spinnerbait that I used once or twice a year. That puppy lasted me for almost 23 seasons before it broke last year.
  16. 8" Mann's Jelly worm in grape.
  17. Good job! That is a nice looking bass.
  18. Shallow running crankbait or swim a jig. Spinnerbaits and real gusty winds are not a good combination for me.
  19. Hours without a strike isn't that bad. Last year I went a month without one bite.
  20. Saturday morning I fished a lake around 60 to 70 acres. Got a few small largemouth and then POW! Something hit my crankbait and I thought I had about a 3 pounder the way the rod was bending. My first thought when I saw it was that it was a very large crappie, but then when I got it in the boat I realized that it looked more like a white bass. After doing some research I found out that MDC has stocked hybrids in several lakes around the state. I think that I will be hitting that lake again pretty soon.
  21. Oh man, I remember those. I had three of them and my mom use to tell me to stop crashing them into the furniture.
  22. It depends on what kind of cover I am fishing in. If its fairly clear I will t-rig the bait. If I am fishing in a lot of slop, then I go weightless.
  23. I've had the same thing happen. Just go back out and catch it again!
