Remembering 9/11
That day was Surreal. They wheeled in a TV into the office so we could watch what was going on.

Check Out This Catch...
For a minute there I thought he was going to go under the water.

Fall Colors
Over the past few years I have noticed that the bass around here hit better on bigger baits in late Sept., and Oct. So if I start out with a 3/8 jig in the summer, I might start out using a 1/2 ounce jig with a fuller looking skirt in the fall. The colors I use depend on what the water clarity is like.

Congrats on the good catching!

Deep Or Shallow In The Fall
A few weeks ago when it was cool here the bass were shallow, back in coves and pockets. Since it has warmed back up, the bass are back in the deep water hanging around the vegetation.

What Else Do You Target?
Most of the time when I go fishing by myself I target bass. When I take the kids, we go after panfish. Once in a great while I will go after trout or muskie.

Forgot My Tackle Home?
Nope, I don't want them to get stolen. We have had a ton of car break ins lately.

Black Jigs For Bass?
I have used them in stained water, but never clear. In clear I like greens, browns, and black/blue colors.

I Cant Figure The It Of Drop Shotting
I have been working on learning drop shotting this year also. A couple of things mentioned above really stood out. #1 I need a heavier weight on the bottom, and #2 I am getting the feeling that I have been moving the bait to much.

Jig Fishing Questions
I like to use a Zoom super chunk trailer. If I'm fishing a green pumpkin colored jig I would start off with a green pumpkin, or watermelon colored trailer and go from there. Sometimes it helps to change it up a little. Try putting a brownish trailer on the green jig and see what happens.

Dragging Jigs?
I move the rod tip up and down to hop the jig. If I'm dragging to stir up the bottom I will hold the rod up and use the reel.

My Noob Friend.
One morning I was running late to get to the lake. I got there and threw my gear into the boat and off we go. A little while later I am fishing in some weeds with a jig and feel a tap, so I swing to set the hook. Next thing I know I have a huge backlash in my reel, and the fish is gone. When I put my gear away after a trip I loosen the drag and in my rushing around that morning I had forgotten to tighten it down again.

Car Problem
What is your fuel consumption like? Are you smelling fuel? My old car use to idle rough and eat gas like water. Turned out the fuel mix was off.

Too Many, Too Big
You'll have to limit the size of the fish you catch to no larger than 7 lbs.

Fluorocarbon Rookie Needs Advice

Blue Sapphire Jig Trailer
That color works very well around here when it's cloudy out, or when the water is stained.

Favorite Weights
Anywhere from 1/16 to 1/2 depending on what kind of bait I am using, the presentation I want, and the cover / structure I am fishing around.

Storing Plastic Lures
I keep the plastics in the package they came in. It's a lot easier to remember the colors and names of the baits that way.
