School me on lipless cranks
I like fishing them in weed covered flats. Running them next to the weed edge and across the top of submerged weeds.

Nice catching, that is a beast!

Things that irritate ya'
People where I work. Sometimes I wonder how these people are able to dress themselves and get to work each day.

What is your fav setup?
I like certain rods and reels for certain applications, but I don't have a favorite.

Shoes for fishing
This time of year I like to wear running shoes. They dry out pretty quickly when they get wet, but I like them because the bug repellant soaks into them.

First.
I hope your wife has a quick recovery. I haven't seen any fawns but there have been a lot of deer running across the roads.

Shakey Heads and Finesse from a Boat
What was the strike zone like? Were the bass hitting all the way back to the boat, or were the bass just hitting around the cover? If the bass were tight to cover I would be making quick pitches. If I didn't get any bites right away I would reel back in and make another cast. If the bass were hitting all the way back to the boat I would ask what his thoughts were about slowing the boat down a little.

Current Favorite All-Around Hard Jerk Baits ?
Currently, it is a Rapala Original Floating Minnow. It's one of the few baits that I can run over the top of the eelgrass.

Wow! It would take me 3 months to catch that many.

Rat fishing experience
At least you saw it before you got back home.

How long do you leave the plastic on your cork?
It comes off when I get the rod home.

Hi there fellow anglers!
Welcome to the forums!
-
you ever get pooped on by birds while fishing?
Never fishing. I've been hit riding in the car with my arm out the window, doing yardwork, hiking, and photography.

The big 4 0....
Happy Birthday young man!

Lake with only one type of cover?
Any standing timber? I'd be running a crankbait through the standing timber or the timber that is just below the surface.

fastest boat you've ever seen
They use to hold drag boat races here in St. Louis back in the day. I'm not sure how fast they were going, but they could do the 1/4 mile in about 3 seconds.

Buying tackle that turned out to be a failure for you…
The venerable Beetle Spin. I've been fishing with them off and on for around 50 years and I've only caught one fish on that bait.

Show Your Rigging Station
Some years back when we bought a new kitchen table my wife wanted to sell our old one. I moved it downstairs and made it my tackle table.

New addition coming...
Congratulations!

Short rods - when do you use them?
All of my rods are between 6'6" and 7'0". The shorter rods are for plastics and small moving baits. The longer rods are for making long casts with heavy moving baits.

Great!!
That turtle looks ticked off.

The Found Lures Thread
I can't remember the last time I actually found a frog in the water. I pulled this Spro down out of a tree with my lure retriever.

Crank baits and snaps
I leave the split rings on the bait, and use duolock snaps.

why does it feel that weekend weather is always the worst of the week?
If it hasn't been freezing on the weekend, then the wind has been blowing. I was off yesterday and decided to run out to a pond and avoid the weekend crowd. The cold front came through on Thursday instead of Friday.
