  1. Yea, I know what you're saying. Over the weekend I thought about hosing off my 1989 Chevy Celeberty but I was afraid I'd pop more of the paint off. So, I opted to get out the can of primer and spray a few more rust spots.
  2. Nope, just a DD (double digit) bass. Besides, my wife's a hottie!
  3. Go fishing at Clear Lake as much as you can before May 5th (and call it pre-fishing). T Then, on May 5th, go fishing at Clear Lake (and call it fishing a tournament). You're just going fishing (and paying an entry fee).
  4. Lightningrod, I hate to hijack this thread, but I've got to ask you this. Is that Imus in your little side picture beneath your name? By the way, nice bass.
  5. I live in NC. I didn't start fishing until about 10:00.
  6. I work for a Jewish carpenter!
  7. Catching 16 bass is good. Catching 21 bass is great. Catching 21 bass with one weighing over 10lbs. is priceless! Nice job.
  8. I caught nine bass today. Almost a Double Digit Day!!! ;D ;D ;D
  9. Fish had a nice gut! Good job!
  10. That's a cool picture. Thanks for posting it.
  11. Two reasons: 1. Tournaments. Whether you pay an entry fee to fish a tournament or not doesn't matter. There's just something about bass fishing that brings out the competitive nature in all of us. I've fished for bream, catfish, trout, and a bunch of other kinds of fish with other people, and just wanted everybody to catch fish and have a good time. But anytime I get in a bass boat (or even stand on the edge of a pond fishing for a bass) with a buddy I want to outfish them so bad it hurts. Even when we go by ourselves, we're fishing against the fish, but we're fishing against anyone else who has ever picked up a rod and reel and targeted a bass. We want to catch more and/or bigger bass than everyone else. Bass fishing is competitive. 2. The bait monkey told me to.

  17. I fish a pond in our community a few times a week for bass, but never fish for anything else. Today I decided to go there and catch a few catfish for supper. I was using a bottom rig with chicken hotdogs. But I ran into a slight problem. I couldn't catch catfish for all the stinking bass hitting my bait! The bass in the pond are finnished spawning, and have moved out deeper (where the catfish were supposed to be). I caught between 15-20 bass. One was about 4.5lbs., two were over 5, and one about 6.5!!! There were a pile in the 2.5-3lb. range. The nicest bag of bass I've ever caught was somewhere between 18-19 pounds. I was close to 25 today! It was awesome. I did catch three nice cats and ate one for supper, but it was nasty. The nice bag of bass saved the day!

  22. After reading Chris Fish's posts the last two days, I'm almost embarrased to tell ya'll this :-[ (not really). A guy in our Church owns a pond this is absolutely amazing. I've caught 3 bass over 8lbs. and one that weighed 7-15 out of it. He's told me that there were bigger ones in it, and I found that out today. When I got there I peeped under a couple of docks that he has and under one of them there were about a dozen nice bass (nice for me is over 3 pounds), and then there was one GIANT. I've never caught, held, or even seen a 10-pounder in real life until today. This bass was HUGE. I knew it was a bass of a lifetime for me, so I decided to fish specifically for it. I recon the best way to describe it is that we had our rounds: Round 1: I pitched a texas-rigged lizzard past it and a dink (3-2) snagged it. I don't normally call bass over three pounds dinks, but it looked like a flea when it swam past the biggun. Round 2: I tried one of those Dean Rojas frogs, and on the first cast she drilled it . I watched her coming after it, watched her inhale it, and before I felt her I jerked it right out of her mouth :'(. I tried the frog for about 20 more minutes, but she wasn't interested. Round 3: I threw a crawdad crankbait past her and reeled it about as slow as possible. She grabbed it . I set the hook (just like you're supposed to). But, she popped off :'( Round 4: I threw the crawdad crankbait past her a second time, and she chased it again. Just about the time she would have reached it I snagged some old fishing line connected to a minnow bucket and she ran. That messed the whole spot up. Round 5: I threw every bait I own, in every color, in every size, and fished it every way. She didn't budge. The first five episodes of this saga took over three hours. Round 6 will hopefully occur tomorrow afternoon. Now, I didn't catch the bass I was after, but I did catch 11 other ones in the process. The biggest I caught weighed 5-4, which to me is still big. My five biggest combined to weigh 13-15. That's nice, but I'm going back for that one fish that could possibly weigh that herself!!! It ain't no Fish Chris story, but my name is Chris too ;D Chris Minton
  23. There's an FLW event about to start and he usually puts up a link to their live weigh-in coverage. His profile says he hasn't been on since March 6th. Anyone know where he is? :-?
