Pond Advice
i disagree here. most states probably dont even allow diploid grass carp, as theyre fertile and spread like wildfire. what you would want are sterile or triploid grass carp. as for the OP, i fish a pond like that. weightless t-rigged plastics are your best friend in ponds like that. also baits without treble hooks will save you from constantly picking out grass from your lures. using weights is just going to pick up more algae and grass. also if there are open sections on top of the water you can run some moving baits through there like spinnerbaits and buzzbaits and keep them above the grass on the bottom of the pond. top water frogs will also work well dragging them across floating mats of algae on top of the water. same with weightless plastics drag them across the algae matts and let them fall into holes. also, you dont need braid. mono will work just fine coming through pond algae. i swear, people here will have you spending a million dollars on stuff that you just dont need...

Photobucket
so resize your images and save them before you upload them. you can dramatically reduce the file size of photos from your camera before you upload them. and it wont greatly affect the quality either. all you need to resize them is a simple little program like Irfanview, which is a free download. if youre uploading raw files from any camera youre going to eat up a lot of space. as for not having another email, create one. its simple. go to yahoo or gmail or a variety of other free email sites. youre making this harder than it has to be...

Photobucket
just use a 2nd email and create a new photobucket account as sirsnookalot suggests. there is absolutely no need to spend money on this...and as answered already, deleting some photos are not gonna affect other photos and where they are linked.

Baker Hit On Foles.....redskins Eagles Game
you dont have the full rule. if the QB removes himself from the play he is defenseless, foles chose to pursue the play. the hit was clean and legal according to the rules. it wasnt helmet to helmet, a blow to the head or neck, or a shot at the knees or a block in the back as someone suggested. good, clean and hard hit. look below for a link and better explanation... thats part of how the rule works...look below for the link and explanation of the rule and leagues meaning of defenseless here is the thing, as you attest, the hit is immediately after the DB is taken down. its impossible for baker to pull up on the hit at that point. youre not stopping 300+ pounds of force rumbling at you in an instant. based on physics, it just aint happening. ---------------------- http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/09/24/chris-baker-was-ejected-for-hit-that-doesnt-violate-the-rules/ here is how the rule works. and according to the article baker was ejected for the hit, but the hit shouldnt have lead to him being ejected or even flagged. so basically, defenseless only means you cant hit a player in the head or neck area or lead with your helmet(or also you cant hit a guy away from the play not in pursuit, but that parts irrelevant here because foles was in pursuit). doesnt mean you cant hit them at all...

Adrian Peterson - I Hope It's Not True
when i was younger i had friends and cousins who had to go cut their own switch, if you didnt get a good one you had to go cut another and the ass whooping was twice as bad. now, i never got whooped with a switch, but i did get the leather belt across my bottom more than a few times. now, maybe perhaps peterson went overboard a little, but parents should have every right to punish their kids, and that includes whoopings.

Summer Bluegill/sunfish Fishing
even better is the Rebel tad fry, i dont think they make them anymore though, not sure. its really small with only one tiny treble. imitates a tad pole and has a little bb rattling in it. i got one a few years ago and havent seen them since. i believe he is referring to the rebel crickhopper. its a cross between a grasshopper and cricket, and yes they make them in multiple colors. the mostly all green one has been the best for me for over 20 years. but if they fish wont bite nothing youve listed, especially the live bite, its unlikely to work. my best advice would be to find different water to fish, sounds like that pond there is dead...

Ever Call Out Sick To Go Fishing?
nope, never done it. too many times ive called out sick, and actually been sick, that work calls me back at home on the house phone later to ask me a question about something. if i could just call in and be left alone for the day, i would probably do it.

Getting Close Enough
my first thought was one of the things Sam said. Cast your lure out, wait for the bass to reacclimate to the area, then start working it. requires patience and kinda sucks, but if it works it could be worthwhile...

Smith Mountain
actually Sam, i dont tournament fish. but i did go down for a nice vacation and a long weekend of fishing. i got your PM asking how i did but it wouldnt let me reply. i can say this, bass were everywhere cruising around my uncles dock, and i caught 11 of them all weekend. an interesting thing i noted. they were swimming in groups of 3 or by themselves. since i was sight fishing them around the dock, i could see them take the bait. the thing is, the solo gals, they were biting. if they were cruising in a group of 3, they wouldnt touch anything i threw all weekend. them cruisers are tough. kind of interesting only one of my catches came on live bait, normall that many bass around and one of them is going to eat a nightcrawler, but nope, the live bait one came on a live crawdad, and it was awesome watching the bass destroy the crawdad before i set the hook. BrianinMD, i got your PM too, i will just reply here on what i saw, some is in the above paragraph to Sam, like about the cruisers and stuff. I will start by saying, i didnt get to bass fish from the boat as we spent our time out trolling for striper instead. but here is what i learned from the bank/dock. Definitely fish docks and downed trees around the banks. a couple rules of thumb for me at SML, green colored baits work well, white works well. ive caught on other colors there, but those have worked the most for me. as for baits/lures, senkos of course work well there(as most anywhere lol). also i've had success on white pearl zoom super flukes. here is what worked for me labor day weekend, again around docks and downed trees is where i found the bass. all came in like 3-5 feet of water. cruisers in groups, not interested in anything, cruising solo and they mostly ate. for senkos the baby bass color by kinami flash is the only color i got bit on. also picked up a few on a berkley red shad shakey worm. all plastics t-rigged. also got a couple on a red eye shad(chrome/black). so a variety of baits got fish, but i never could find a killer bait. missed a couple on a white and red spinnerbait, a trailer hook may have helped but i dont use them. also i noted the bass really werent out and about shallow early in the morning, they showed up just before noon and hung around most of the day it seemed. no idea why they were in groups of 3 only, saw several different groups of 3 though because they were different sizes. you can probably get a limit just fishing many of the numerous docks there, and then look to upgrade in other places. i was fishing in the craddock creek area of the lake. and when i do get to bass fish from the boat its usually over around and past the dam in a place known as cedar keys and another place known as elmos cove. im not real familiar with fishing the state park area or up the river arms. im usually on the main lake. jigs arent my game, but that one fish i caught on the live crawdad absolutely destroyed it, yet i never tried craw imitating baits for whatever reason. you may want to try a weightless rage craw around the docks, just throw and let it sink real slowly with a couple easy jerks along the way. also, ive had some success drop shotting there around tree stumps. and i hear there are plenty of stumps and tree roots around the state park area. for cranks, my best luck there have been on ones with silver/chrome/white/gray bellys and black backs... also, as Sam stated, the lake is HUGE. Do some map study and try to find areas you would like to target first, as you only have so much time on the water to fish your tournament. you'll never get the whole lake without wasting a bunch of time and gas. over 500 miles of shoreline there...

Arrival At Water
that "if you can see the bass it can see you" thing is thrown around far too often. i've caught plenty of bass that could see me. just because they can see you doesnt mean they wont bite. now, i wont discount the fact that SOME bass may get weary and not bite if they see you, but thats not the case for all bass

Nova Spots
lookup kipheart bridge landing in leesburg, you can park there and walk the trail along goose creek and fish for smallmouth and eventually it will lead you to the potomac river. also, lookup beaverdam reservoir in Dulles, VA. not far from leesburg, but not really good for bankfishing. for some reason people dont like mentioning this place but i really dont care as its public, theres good bass fishing there but its tough. nice crappie too. theres a few local ponds around there too. try going down back roads such as dry mill road and the roads off of that, many connect to harmony church road, lots of ponds back in that area, just ask permission or you could drive a half hour or so to the shenandoah off route 7 or in harpers ferry area. same for the potomac, not far to get to several spots there.

Smith Mountain Lake
im going down to SML tomorrow night. i may can give you better info when i get back. but i will say this, if youre going to target the smallmouth just remember that there arent nearly as many of them as largemouth. smallmouth make up less than 10% of the black bass population there. but typically i hear they can be found around the dam by the rocky walls coming down off the mountain into the water, the finger cuts in the mountain leading up to the dam and such. personally ive never caught a smallmouth at SML though. the bass in my avatar is a SML bass i caught on a drop shot while night fishing around a couple tree stumps

i'd get a skin mount over a replica. and despite what people say, replicas do not look as good or better than skin mounts, replicas look fake as hell like theyre mass produced in some chinese factory, yeah and i know many people dont agree with that, but in my opinion, its the plain old truth...

Has This Ever Happened To You?
one day i was fishing a pond with a rebel crickhopper. i was distracted and watching the cars go by on the highway there and not paying attention while slow reeling the crickhopper. feel jerking and look back to what im doing. a small 4in bluegill had got hooked by the rear treble. i was like dang i dont even wanna take that little fish off, maybe it can free himself(i was being very lazy that day lol). so i let it jerk for about 15 seconds trying to free itself. the water was real clear and it was close to the bank too. out of nowhere, actually out from under a floating patch of algae on the bank comes a bass and it just goes ballistic on this bluegill that i have hooked. it picked up the bluegill in its mouth tail first and tail walked out of the water. i was watching in awe, the bass re-entered the water after the tail walk and started swimming out toward deeper water. my line tightened and the bass turned around and jumped out of the water straight at me, i saw the bluegills head barely sticking out of its mouth, for some reason at this point, bass in midair fully out of the water, i swung for the sky, saw the bluegill go down the basses throat and my crickhoppers rear treble caught the bass in the lip. a few seconds later i had a 4.5lb bass on the bank, and got to view an amazing show in nature. that made the day for me. and it turned the bass on. before that i wasnt catching anything with other lures, i put on the crickhopper just so i could catch some of the nice bluegill in that pond and maybe get a bass too, i got both at once

Summer Bluegill/sunfish Fishing
well, techinically i guess the hooks are small jig heads. but you can basically fish it anyway you want to. you can let it fall to the bottom(if it gets there without being ate) and hop it along the bottom or drag it. you can swim it, you can yo-yo it, really doesnt matter. it was perfect size for bluegills mouths and none swallowed it amazingly...

Summer Bluegill/sunfish Fishing
4th of july weekend i went to smith mountain lake, and discovered my new favorite bream bait as far as artificial go. Trout Magnets. the bream were killing them, even caught a bass on it. i was using white, pink and yellow trout magnets. even tried silver and gold colored hooks. the bream didnt care about any of that though. im going to get a true ultralite rod and reel and use smaller line on it to cast those things further. theyre perfect for panfish
