What Would Be

Featured Replies

we all have a targeted fish or the majority of us do ,but do you have a second fish that you pursue also ? like for instance my main fish is the large mouth bass but if i decided to go after another species i think it would be muskie or tiger muskie . haven't caught either to this day but wouldn't mind . the water would first of all hold that species of course, but if it did i would give it a try . so do you have a second fish you pursue or just basically one?

LMB , Smb,  Crappie & Catfish

Redfish. All day. Every day.

Just a few, peacock bass, snook, tarpon, permit, and barracuda.  A number of species that are catches of opportunity as no one knows when or if they will show up so they can't targeting, bluefish, jacks, mackerel, runners, and bonefish.

Stripers, as long as they are boiling on the surface.  I'm not interested in dropping anchovies down into 80 feet of water or trolling those deep diving plugs.

This is a great list for up here. A little surprised there's not more love for the walleye on this thread though.

I honestly don't have a preference, although I have been focusing on bass for the past year or so. I just fish for what I want when I want (as long as the conditions are favorable). Bass, trout, stripers, catfish, crappies, white perch, carp, gar, and anything in saltwater.

Largemouth first.  Smallies or gills second depending on where I am fishing.

1.largemouth bass

2.chain pickeral

3.brown trout

4.panfish

Bass, trout then anything that bites lol

aside from bass i like to fish for catfish, striper, bluegill, and more

Based on what's available in the river I fish my preferences are:

1) Smallmouth

2) Walleye

3) Channel cats

I only fish largemouth about one week per year and northern pike even less than that, but love them both!!

to me, trout are above bass because i tend to catch more. something about seeing a rainbow jump is just great. But ill fish for whatever is available. My local pond has sunnies, bass, shad, carp, and probably more that i havent caught yet.

1. Steelhead

2. Chinook Salmon (in secluded small streams of course, no combat fishing for me.)

3. Rainbow Trout

4. Smallies

5. Brown trout

6. Brookies

7. Largemouth

8. Muskies

9. Lake Trout (ice fishing)

10. Walleye

1000000. Crappie. Dunno why, but I hate catching crappie.

Bass are what I target but catch other fish on bass lures.

Besides bass I like carp fishing, these things are strong in the river and I have caught them up to 32lbs. Fish with teeth have lost their interest with me? Pickerral are all like 2' and weigh 6oz, pike hit like a ton of bricks but like muskie I just have caught enough that they just don't thrill me anymore. Trout I think would be great if we had any around here that were not stockers where everyone is fishing elbow to elbow after the stocking.
