  1. Bought it out of high school for a whopping $1600 in 1976. Saw one nearly identical go for $70,000 last year at Barrett-Jackson.
  2. If you're looking at new, $25-35k will get you into a 18 1/2 footer to a 19 with a 150 or 175hp motor. For the best bet, take that same amount of money and look at all your options in a used boat. There will be PLENTY!
  3. I saw no announcement for this spring so if they do, it probably won't happen till the fall. Unfortunately.
  4. Revo's whether the S, SX, STX or Premiere come as 6.4:1 gear ratio reels. You can change to a SX HS, STX HS and get 7.1:1. The S doesn't have that option. I believe the Premiere can also be had in a HS version. The reel sizes are all the same, there is no 100 or 200 version like the Shimano's.
  5. Not for me. When I click on a forum I have to scroll down the page to get to it. Kinda small too.
  6. It's gonna take a while to get used to. Don't be offended if we slip up and accidently call you dbrev42 occasionally. Old habits die hard.
  7. I have 4 S reels, 2 SC's and an SX. They are all great reels. The only real difference being the cast controls, magnetic vs. Centrifugal. I've got 3 pins in and 3 out on the S reels and have rarely had to mess with them after that. The mag controls on the SC and SX don't seem to make a lot of difference unless you crank them from one end to the other. All great reels, as for actual operation, I can't really say the higher bearing model SC and SX are really better than the 9 bearing S model. I've used them all this year and they've not let me down.
  8. Same here. My PM box requires me to S C R O L L W A Y D O W N T H E P A G E .
  9. I've done it many times. Just two connections to make, solder and then seal with liquid electrical tape or regular elect tape.
  10. Welcome Gidget!
  11. She needs to get herself hooked up.....soon.....while she still has the looks to rely on.... Dumber than dirt...
  12. Bobby's has them for $75. http://bobbysfishinrods.com/page/1hhhv/Allstar_Rods.html
  13. I though the bubble wrap stretched around a frame idea was pretty good. Whatever you decide on, make sure and video the maiden voyage.
  14. I wouldn't waste my time with the storage systems, I've heard way too many guys pulling them out and going with Stors it rod sleeves or the Stick Jackets. The biggest reason is rod tip and guide damage. http://www.storsit.com/index.html I can jam 20 rods into my locker, reach down to the bottom and pull out whichever one I want without tangle. No need to worry about guides breaking off when you try and slide them out of those fixed tubes that the rod storage systems have.
  15. I don't think the question is whether you pursue those "name" players on the list. I don't see much point in it. I think the question is how MLB now handles those players and their records, if any and their potential inductance into the HOF. If Pete Rose can be denied his place I don't know how guys who basically cheated by using Enhancing drugs, legal or not, can be allowed in or their records treated as untainted. How do you asterick an entire decade or more of MLB in the record books? Do you? Is Bonds home run record worthy of the same stature as Henry Aarons?
  16. I agree muddy. I'm not calling Selig a saint by any means. It was clear that it was a no ask no tell situation in MLB during the 90's. The turnstiles were turning again after the stike ruined MLB attendance in the early 90's and a good steroid induced homerun derby was just what the league needed to get people back in the stands. I can tell you. as someone who lives in St. Louis, there's something of a rather raw feeling people are having towards Mark McGwire. Considering his pathetic performance in front of the congressional hearing and now his name again being brought up in this report, I wouldn't be surprised if they take down the "Mark McGwire Memorial Highway" signs on Interstate 70 downtown. It really taints that homerun derby and the great vibe the city had in those years. To think Sosa was doing the same makes it even worse. Basically, the players were cheating and MLB closed it's eyes because the turnstiles were spinning again. It's going to take a long time for this sport to recover.
  17. Heights. Especially when I've got nothing to hold onto like when on a ladder and trying to change a light bulb in my foyer 10ft up in the air. I'm going to say clautrophobia too. I never knew I had it till I had to do an MRI. They jammed my head down into foam, then dropped this cage type device over my face. Once that thing was over my face I freaked. I had to get out of their and NOW! Heck, I was only on the table and hadn't even been put into the MRI machine yet!! I have to redo the test but will need to take some valium to get through it.
  18. Anyone planning on going here? Jan. 4-5-6. I usually go over there, some smaller local tackle shops show up. Maybe we can get a couple forum members together and blow some money together on more tackle we don't need. ;D
  19. I won't be able to hit the lakes during the week anymore until spring. Weekends only.
  20. I suspect if the rod was Houston made it probably would be in that price range. What I find interesting is the rod actions that are available. For instance, the typical Spinnerbait rod in the IM10 (TAS series) is the 806C model. 6'8" MHvy, fast. The ASR series shows that as a model 805, Med/Fast. Even their worm rod is listed as a Med action. I wonder what gives here?
  21. I like the fact that Selig called them what they are Cheaters. They cheated the fans and MLB. They've tarnished the sport forever. How anyone can ever look at a MLB record book with a straight face is beyond me now. That said, it appears that they were all in on this one and profited from it. Didn't anyone ever start to smell anything when hitting 60 home runs in a season suddenly became easy?
  22. If you go to All Stars website they've got all their rod lines marked as Made in Houston except the Pro series, Instinct and the ASR. I'm guessing the ASR's are made wherever the other 2 are made at.
  23. I'm afraid I wouldn't want to be anywhere near a 5 year old that had a loaded firearm in his possesion.
  24. Bobby's has them for $75. http://bobbysfishinrods.com/page/1hhhv/Allstar_Rods.html
