  1. I believe the bee lines are the old Bumble Bee hulls. The Pheonix is a completely new hull design.
  2. Those were the models Rapala started making when they originally bought out Storm. They come in a yellow box and to my knowledge aren't made anymore. One of the great spring baits. I use Pre-Rapala baits only. I have quite a few colors that just aren't made anymore. You can find the pre-Rapala baits on ebay but they are pricey.
  3. That's a new boat company that arose from a buy out of the old Bumble Bee boat company. The Phoenix boats are the new designs in the lineup. I don't think there is even a dealer in my area which may make or break this new start up company in this economy.
  4. Have you priced cowlings?!! If you're not familiar with fiberglass repair, I'd take it to a pro. Far cheaper than a new cowling, that or look on ebay for used.
  5. I agree, if I wasn't fishing All STars I'd fish Falcons.
  6. Team All Star's are going for $100 dollars right now. Great rod. Light too.
  7. At first glance, I thought the thread title said Spontaneous Wet T shirts. Instead is was just another Burley whine. >
  8. If you put on rap beat music in the background and then try and read it it makes perfect sense. Otherwise it looks like a dictionary was in a head on collision with a brick wall.
  9. I've found that filleting larger bass, those above 5-6lbs is much easier.
  10. $2000? If you don't buy it I will. If you want to do it yourself, get a Clymers manual for that engine. You can find rebuilt 150-175hp powerheads, complete, for around $3500-4000. After installation you'd still probably want to take it to a pro to have the thing tuned properly. At $6000, it's still a good deal.
  11. Our area lakes also experience that shad spawn. Usually a couple weeks after the bass spawn has ended. Usually, the lakes are still off colored from May rains and the fish will be along the banks ambushing the shad making them easier to catch. If they're not there they'll be close by in whatever cover there's available. Unfortunately, in your case, the bass are feasting at night and can rest during the day. I'd still focus on any cover close to the areas where the shad spawns are occurring.
  12. That kind of theft is becoming more commonplace at all lakes, not just Table Rock.
  13. I use a butt seat up front, it works well but sometimes I like to sit as well. If I'm fishing alone I pull the regular seat I have in the rear pedestal and use it for sitting. Another thing I've done if I have just a regular fishing seat up front is to set the pedestal all the way up, fold the seat down, turn it backwards and lean against the seat back. Ok, it's probably not good for the seat back and frame but it works in a pinch.
  14. There doesn't appear to be anything on it anymore. :-?
  15. Excellent! And I'm sure Deb won't mind cooking breakfast every day for 5 days for 40 guys. ;D This is gonna be a blast!
  16. You're $40 over his budget not including the rod.
  17. I think the lighter idea is good. Make sure you have someone video it. I'd also suggest hot waxing. Again, have someone nearby with a video camera. Sorry to hear of your nose hair problems 4bzz but just wait till you get older. That's when the hair starts growing inwards instead of outwards on your scalp and starts coming out of other orifices like the nose and ears.
  18. Awesome! Have you laid out the sleeping arrangements for the next roadtrip in there? I think we can get 40 guys in there with no problem plus room for coolers!!
  19. No way that's muddy swimming around, it's missing the butt crack shadow.
  20. I got bit on the calf by a Brown recluse, the earth tone cousin of the Black widow, 5 years ago. I still have a hole in my leg (covered over by a scab) where the flesh eating component of the venom ate into me. Those spiders are nothing to mess with.
  21. Buzzbaits would be a good choice in milfoil but they tend to snare up in the grass along with getting the junk wrapped around the blade. A bait I used with tremendous success back in the days when Lake of the Ozarks had tons of Milfoil in it was an old Uncle Bucks buzzer that BPS sells. In heavy mat, these things cast like bullets to reach those far off holes in the matting. Keep the rod tip up. This bait will ride right over the top of the thickest of milfoil with getting itself all fouled up.
  22. I seem to recall a BassMaster article in the 80's concerning rigging floating worms with a regular sproat hook by running the worm along the hook shaft and wrapping part of the worm along the hook bend before allowing the hook to exit the worm. It put a crazy S bend in the worm and they called "that" wacky worming. I called it massive line twist as that's what I'd get even with a swivel. :-?
  23. If you try and do it yourself and destroy it, you obviously didn't fix it. How would you know how to fix it the next time, wouldn't you just destroy it again trying to fix it again? You did it yourself and it wasn't done right, how can having something "repaired" by someone else be any worse?
  24. Neither you or I are qualified to give advice on "Lil butt" seats.
  25. You could sell that for scrap for more than $250. You got a good deal.
