Rod/Reel "wish list"
Garcia to redo the STX with the same braking as on the Patriarch along with the availability of a low speed cranker and a Titanium plated finish. They could also add the free floating line guide as was on the old XLT Ultra Mag Plus reels.

dont know why abu garcia
I was a round reel Garcia guy for many years until my hands got to where I couldn't hold them all day. Still, the Shimano Calcutta series is one incredible round caster. I can think of only the Morrum that's better.

Apple TV
Nope. There are many markets in which HD locals are not available via sat. Unless things have changed, Comcast in this area only offers around 10 HD channels. And then it isn't much more than an upconverted signal. KU, Remember to keep in mind that Burley DOES live in Virginia! JK Burley! Yep. One of these days they'll finally get all them wires strung and he can finally get rid of his phone.

Daytona 500
Suspension for what? It's obvious you aren't a fan, so why make such an ultimatum? Vickers blocking move was completely within the rules of the game. Jr, OTOH, had gone below the double yellow. The rules state he now had to take a position back in line somewhere behind the car he was trying to pass. Since his old slot was now filled up with another car he would've had to have slowed and fallen to the back of that line of cars driving the inside line. He decided to "move" Vickers out of the way instead. Video http://www.nascar.com/video/cup/2009/02/15/cup.day.high.four.nascar/

BPS Crankin Sticks
I've owned crankin sticks in the past. Of all the BPS rod lines, the crankin sticks are the best value going of the bunch. You really wouldn't need to upgrade frankly. Those rods have a great feel for crankbaits.

BPS Pro Qualifier vs Citica 200E
That Pro Qualifier is a Pure fishing built reel. It's got REvo written all over it. Citica E - 3 bearings, Cent. brake. $119.95 PQ - 7 bearings, dual braking, swept handle. $99.95 I'd go with the PQ reel no question.

Opinion on a boat
Check over the transom and floor. If those are solid move to the trailer next and really check the crossmembers. Not sure if that trailer used tubular framing but Nitro trailers were infamous for rusting from the inside out, especially the crossmembers. If the boat and trailer are in good shape, move to the next step of spending the money to have the engine checked out by a mechanic. Lastly, take the thing out for a test spin if possible. Check everything while you're on the water. It's hard to find a good condition boat for $3k. That could be a really good deal.

Points defined by Your experience?
First, "No wind". How are you going to fish the windblown side? Second, you said that wasn't a point, now you're going to fish parallel to the point? Is it a point or isn't it?

Daytona 500
Now Junior starts the first Big one. Hope he gets busted a few laps for that little move.

Some pics from R.I.
I also had a darkroom. Used to shoot a lot of B&W. This whole digital stuff is way beyond me. I miss my old Pentax K1000. Your last shots have that infrared look we used to get by putting a red Cokin filter in front of the lens. Cokin, there's a name from the past.

Hook for 10 inch worm
I have both Gammie 5/0 offsets or Eagle Claw lazer sharps in the same size. I've gone up to 6/0 on some occasions if the fish were hitting the lure weird and causing the worm to get balled up on the throat resulting in poor hook penetration.

Some pics from R.I.
I hope you don't mind, some of those are now part of my picture show screen saver. Are those shopped? Just wondering how you got that sepia tone on some of those.

Apple TV
Way to go KU! > Thanks for bringing common sense and reality into the thread. ;D Seriously, it's going to go to something like this eventually. I think it might have been Philips that had web TV a few years ago. Apple is just the first with this concept.

Does anyone prefer magnetic braking systems?
I have dual braking on all of mine now. I can't imagine going back.

Fred Young Big O crankbaits
The original Big O's were originally whittled by Fred Young well over 30 years ago. They were the first of what the tackle industry called the alphabet plugs. Big O, Big N, Super R, Balsa B, etc. They demanded big $$ on the BASS trail back then since there were so few around. I've used them on and off. I've had better luck with a long discontinued Rogers bait called the Big Jim and of course, the old Balsa B's.

It's not too late for the Road Trip!!
There are several hotels only a mile or so up the road from the lodge/marina if the lodge would fill. I still have a back seat available for Friday AM till we leave.

What does this picture tell you?
How else are you going to control traffic? Unfortunately, there is no contour info for KY lake. Barkley OTOH. It's tricky though. No longer is it "red on right return", it's more of an English version of traffic control, "White on right return" Be careful out there guys. Does anyone have the link to the thread where the guy explains what programs to download and how to overlay the google earth with the others etc? It was awesome, I'll try to find it Unfortunately, there is no contour info for KY lake. Barkley OTOH.

What does this picture tell you?
That's where the barges are supposed to go. That's not where a bass boat is supposed to go if a barge was just there unless you like high altitude boating.

Help: Need to make a bow mount for a hand steered Min Kota
Muddy, here is a shot of my little squirt boat I built this past spring. I never posted pictures because I was taking that vacation from the forum here. I built that up off the front bench seat though it could've been done without it. In your case if you had a smaller little deck put on all you'd need is a stout piece of angle iron bent at 90 degrees and bolted through the deck.

Got My ASSOCIATES DEGREE TODAY>>DIPLOMA IN HAND
Welcome to the waited till over 40 to get your first degree crowd Dom. I know exactly how hard it is to hold down a full time job AND go to school in the evening. Outstanding!!
-
How many rods do you really need?
I've got 14-15 in the boat most of the time with around 6 on deck. If it's a good day of fishing usually all but 2 or 3 go back into the box to relieve clutter.

thoughts on brands of reels
I'm not big on spinning gear but I picked up 2 Pflueger Presidents off the flea market here last year and MAN!! What a reel, especially considering the $60 price. In fact, you can find them brand new on Ebay for only $50.

Phoenix boats
IIRC, some original Legend boat wheels bought into BumbleBee and were going to change the name to Phoenix. I think they were to have some boats built on Bumble Bee molds and then some new designs.. BumbleBee was sort of a regional boat builder and didn't have an extensive dealer network. I've heard they built pretty solid boats that were pretty quick.
