FYI for BR.com KY boaters
First, she said they did have power. 2nd, the marina is not a part of the Kenlake facility and is it's own entity. She indicated that it's not uncommon for no one to be hanging around the phone there since there's absolutely nothing going on this time of year during the week on the lake. She indicated the weekend may be the best bet to catch someone.

FYI for BR.com KY boaters
I just got off the phone with a gal at Kenlake Lodge. The lodge itself has hookups at the cabins and a few (5) electrical outlets on posts in an island in the parking area out front of the lodge. She said you could back your boat into those parking areas but you'd have to detach your vehicle each night. Some 3-ways and l-o-n-g extension cords are probably going to be in order. I haven't had much luck getting ahold of the Marina. She said she thought slips were around $10 a night IF available. If anyone else has actually gotten ahold of the marina please post.

Boat Deck
There aren't any blueprints because virtually every deck extension is different depending on the boat. It looks like you've already got a partial deck there you can build off of. I'd use regular framing lumber to add the frame for the extension and seal it with either epoxy resin or what I used, Minwax helmsman urethane. treated wood is very heavy, takes a while to dry out and some adhesives don't adhere to it well.

Viewing line icons instead of fish icons on graph hard?
No, every graph you ever used thought it saw a fish and indicated it with a fish icon. It's right less than 50% of the time and every graph instruction manual I've ever seen has a disclaimer in it somewhere stating that very thing.

Favortie movies you wouldn't admit to a fishin' buddy
So movie night at the lake in LBH's room wearing the fat clothes, doing nails and ordering out obscene amounts of takeout food is a big NO for you?

Favortie movies you wouldn't admit to a fishin' buddy
It's hard to not like a movie if there's great acting in it. A few of mine: Steel Magnolia's Fried Green Tomatoes Devil wears Prada What women want (Mel Gibson movie, not sure it's technically a chick flick) Drowning Mona, another that may or may not be a chick flick. Driving Miss Daisey

EARLY SPRING?
I suspect with this recession going on they're probably unemployed and have got nothing else to do. Gobbling doesn't cost anything and it probably helps with their self esteem. Hopefully the stimulus package goes through, I think I saw a few million devoted to putting wild turkeys back to work by employing them building bridges or something like that.

What's the magic number?
I'm attempting to get both of my boats into fishing condition ASAP as the season is now underway. I'm pretty sure the ice is off the lakes now and as the warmer days keep coming the water will warm from the 30's into the 40's. I want to be on the water when that's happening throwing mostly jerkbaits. Not many bites but the ones you get are usually good, quality fish.

Abu Garcia Revo SX or Record
The Records are really beautiful reels but they are very heavy.

Fishing Magazines?
I don't get any fishing magazines anymore other than the Missouri fish and game mag which I basically get for local info on more obscure lakes in the area. The best mags ever were the old Fishing Facts magazine and In-Fishermen. While they often only had one article per issue on bass fishing, it was thorough and gave a lot more insight on bass movement, seasonal patterns and how fish relate to structure and the why's. Much more than Bassin or Bassmaster. Honestly though, you can find just about anything you need right here by following the links at the top under fishing articles. The amount of knowledge available at just this site is staggering. I wish I had had the same available to me when I was starting out. Talk about cutting down the learning curve.

The 25lb Bass
Let's face it. The CA guys fishing are fishing for THE fish. Somebody in TX or FL is fishing for a fish.. over 10lbs, over 12, over 15. Somebody snares a 20lb bass and the world stops turning in either of those states. I just dont' think you guys, 4biz, you matt or fish chris really understand just how BIG those fish you guys are holding up in those pictures are to about 98% of all the fishermen in this country. A fish in the 14-15lb class anywhere south of the Mason Dixon line would be the same to us as a 20lb plus fish to you guys. I find it completely normal that somebody in someplace other than CA would take a 20lber and keep it for whatever use they saw fit.

Motor Guide or Minn Kota
In my earlier days of bass fishing I had a motorguide or two. They were constantly breaking. Other guys who had them were constantly fixing theirs as well. I switched to MK and never looked back (except for the hell years that I owned that POS power drive).

thought i would give a heads up about jawbreaker rods
The Batson Blank has the warranty on it. Unfortunately, the Batson blank also has NO guides or handle attached to it. That was done by the seller or someone commissioned by him. This is one of the disadvantages of buying a custom rod. While the blank usually comes from a reputable company who backs their product, the rest of the pieces on the rod have to be put their by somebody else. Unless there was a written warranty on the rod as it came, completely assembled to you, the seller is under no obligation to replace it as you said this which can be construed as high sticking by a rod builder and normally considered abuse and not covered by a warranty. BTW, here's the warranty from BR's own Reel Mech and his D.G. Rod Works Rods. I happen to own one. As you can see by this rod builder, it's common for custom builders to recharge the cost of the guides and handle when replacing the rod even if the blank was under warranty. In this case, there was no expressed warranty given. As Flech said, it's $10 bucks, pay the man and move along.

Rat-L-Trap Type Baits
I don't remember which pro it was, might have been Fritts but basically said the same thing and it pertained to all molded hard crankbait type lures. For some reason some of them just work better than others. Most of the pros have figured this out and the cranks they have in their boxes are not new but in fact, lures that have proven to catch fish. They normally don't carry untested crankbait type lures. I know this is very true with old, pre-Rapala Wiggle warts. You could take a specific color, say green crawfish V62, and throw 6 of them brand new out of the box and 2 of them will far out fish the others. I don't know if it's some weird defect in the molding or manufacture that causes them to run differently than the others but there's a difference there for sure.

thought i would give a heads up about jawbreaker rods
Buyer: matthewj52001 Jan-21-09 16:58 "got my rod i love it would buy from again" Reply by angelak6467 (Feb-08-09 10:11): "SELLERS BEWARE! he broke this rod and did a chargeback and filed a paypal claim! Check the seller's reputation Score: 808 | 99.9% Positive Your options? It's not often a buyer loses in a Paypal dispute but you did. Your feedback indicates you were happy with your purchase. If you weren't going to try the rod out immediately, I wouldn't have been so quick to leave that positive feedback as the seller lists absolutely NO WARRANTY on the rod anywhere in his item description. Return policy The seller will not accept returns for this item. In order to make customers happy he's even listed his phone number, something I'd never do. Not sure what you want? You high sticked the rod and broke it. He's under no obligation to even do what he's been doing for you. If you want the rod I'd suggest you ante up the $30 and pay for it as he's under no written obligation to give you anything. Sorry to say that and trying to resolve this through your credit card will probably get you nowhere since Paypal has already denied your claim. I seriously doubt the credit card would reverse their (paypals) decision in this case.

Who makes this reel for BPS?
A lot of the tooling for the BPS reels is very similar to the Pure fishing line of reels Garcia/Pflueger. The new Pro Qualifier is definitely a by-product of whomever is building the reels for the Pure companies. I suspect BPS will slowly start changing their lines to something that looks more like Garcia/Pflueger over the next couple years.

REVO LICIOUS!
What Revo? I dumped all my Revo's except for 2 S reels and have gone to Pflueger Patriarchs, Summits and 4 Johnny Morris Signature reels. I only had bearing squeal with one Revo S, I pulled the spool bearing, cleaned & oiled it and squeal gone.

New steering cables?
Thought's? First, that is a single cable system, you'll need a dual. Second, you'll need to look under the dash to see what's in there now. It's quite possible you've got the same R&P. Third, locate the steering cables coming from under the dash, teleflex normally has the numbers on the cable every several feet or so. Fourth, the correct length will be on the cable. If you're still not sure, BPS and Cabela's both have measuring guides in their marine catalogs. Fifth, If money isn't an object, you might want to think about a hydraulic system. Sixth, depending on your motor setup and whether you have a jackplate or not, changing cables normally requires lifting the engine off the back of the boat.

Who makes this reel for BPS?
You can get the ETX05 Extreme reel cheaper. Basically the same reel.

Could not resist the Launcher
I've got a 6' Tour spinning rod I use for skipping docks and love it. I've also sold a few PT edition baitcasting rods over the past few years. The rods have a really nice feel to them and are very light.

Floating Lipless Crank?
Floating Rat L Traps. Yep. Have a number of them and do quite well. Great fall bait when the fish are in cover along the bank. You can throw those things right up to the bank and start skittering them like a fleeing shad. Once you're in slightly deeper water stop it and then start cranking and it begins diving. Also great over submergent vegatation that comes within a foot or 2 of the surface. I've also used them in the early spring as a suspending bait by adding Suspend strips to them.

REVO LICIOUS!
Is it gold plated or a gold colored Titanium deposition finish like the new Johnny Morris Gold reel?
