  1. 4" Yum Dinger for me as well.
  2. Maybe it was a good color for the OP almost 3 years ago? I bought a few of the Xcalibur Xcs100 in Citrus Shad (among other colors) a week or so ago to try on Smallies up here. Hoping they will work great like @papajoe222says.
  3. Dick's only had the spinnerbaits in the Banshee lineup. I instead found some Kvd slash 200 jerkbaits for $5.97. They only had 5 of them so I picked 5 Kvd 1.0 and 1.5 squarebills for my 5 free lures. Thanks again for posting about these deals.
  4. Took advantage of the clearance deal at Dick's of buy 5 and get 5 free. They only had 5 of the jerkbaits so I just grabbed 5 crankbaits for my 5 free ones.

I have never smoked or dipped but I have a friend who does for about 30 years now. I am normally not a judging person when it comes to stuff like that but I have seen his oral health severely decline in the last several years. I'd like to see him quit but he deems it impossible as he's tried several times with no luck at all. I saw that @tanderposted that it is at over $4 a can in the US. The govt up here has taxed the hell out of tobacco products in the last bunch of years and therefore a can of Skoal is $24 with tax. I thought that the cost would deter my friend but it didn't seem to phase him. How many of you would still pay that much for a can?
  6. I don't have a picture but 2 years ago I had probably my worst bass catching experience, where I caught a smallmouth on a spook and had a treble in each eye. I even clipped the trebles off just past the barb to try to minimize damage while removing it, but I can't help but think that I blinded that fish.
  7. Huge thanks for this info!!
  8. No luck finding these at the Dick's I checked. They weren't even aware of a "made for Dick's" version and certainly no buy 5 get 5. Does anyone know what colors were offered in the "made for Dick's" version?
  9. Dick's has the scatter rap shad on clearance for $4.97 if anyone is interested. A quick look online is only showing 2 colors/sizes left. In store might have better selection.
  10. It was the older GL2 with the blue blank and the plastic cap on bottom of the straight handle. Yeah the newer gen sold for $200 but have been told they were not worth it. I think some folks on here snagged a few when Dick's had them on clearance for $119. Just had the one. $50 cdn...so like $38 US Been struggling over that rod for a month or so. I'd even PM'd a few folks on here after I had done some research and found older posts.
  11. Went to my tackle shop today and I was looking at the clearance rod rack. 2 Crucial crc66mh and a Mbr7something GLoomis GL2 for $50 each. Monkey was on my back hard and I fought him for the whole 2 hours I was there. I walked out empty handed and the whole drive home I was asking myself......did I win?
  12. Great to get a confirmation!!
  13. I have settled on Big Game on a baitcaster but my experience is that it isn't so great on a spinning reel. My spinning reels get Stren original.
  14. Wonder how many calls they get on this question? I am glad you made this post as I had called them two weeks ago and asked the very same question but for a spool for a core 50. The guy I spoke to didn't know so he had checked with some of the others and they finally came to the conclusion that they spools do come with the brakes on them. He said they list a separate number for the brakes in case people just need to order the brakes alone. Having said all that, I am not sure how accurate the info is as I asked how the weather was in Cali (I had assumed he was in California) and he said he didn't know as he was in the GLoomis factory in Woodland, Washington.
  15. Anyone seeing any sales on red eye shads?
  16. I will agree with the Boomerang tool as being great. A friend has one and it works well. But it sells for $23 up here, so as @nascar2428 said I go with the Fiskars kiddo scissors. They work great on braid and I have had mine for over 2 years and still going strong.
  17. I had seen your post in the Flea Market and I was curious why you couldn't return it or exchange it. I played with a Energy PT in a store last year and it felt nice but I have read too many negatives about Quantum reels to trust them.
  18. Are you still rigging it the same way as in the picture you posted in that thread?
  19. Water and crunchy peanut butter Cliff bars
  20. Snagged a few "left overs" at Academy for $1.98.
  21. Only a dozen feet or so? What action is the rod? I have a few rods that are rated 1/4 - 3/4 and can throw an 1/8oz quite well. was just curious
  22. The "jokester" in me wants to says that it's karma for fishing while the rest of us are iced in. In all seriousness though, I am sorry your rod broke.
  23. Snagged a few rods on clearance today. Shimano Compre 6'6" M/XF, GLoomis Jerkbait rod JBR-812C and a Crankbait series CBR-864DF. Now to figure out what to use them for..lol
  24. Thanks again guys for all the comments. I made a visit to my tackle store and picked up 3 rods. The Shimano Crucial M/xf was gone which sucked but bought a 6'6" M/XF Compre ($34.72) instead. The other two were GLoomis Jerkbait rod JBR-812C ($62.56) and a Crankbait series CBR-864DF ($76.63). I think I did ok.
