  1. I like the look of that. I just may have to try one as well.
  2. Just couldn't pass up a great price on local classifieds.
  3. Sorry about that. Code # 51301 I took a quick look on Krylon's website to be sure they still offered it and they do, although the can and description is a bit different. Either they added the primer or it's a US vs. Canada packaging difference. I am not sure but the code # is the same. It comes in satin and flat as well if you prefer those over the gloss. http://www.krylon.com/products/colormaster-paint-primer-acrylic-crystal-clear/
  4. Not bashing Susquehanna Fishing Tackle but I find it amusing that their Cabin Fever Fishing event is sponsored by Shimano and yet Shimano is one of the brands excluded. Thanks for the heads up. I will take a peek.
  5. I agree with @dam0007, size 1 or 2 is a much better choice. Just make sure the snap you choose is a good quality one. I have seen many cheap ones fail.
  6. I was going to suggest looking at Barlow's as well. I have bought brand name hooks from them but not split rings. I honestly can't see they selling something that wasn't high quality. I might also suggest staying with the regular and not stainless if you are looking at sizes 1, 2 and 3 . I tried some stainless last year and spread them open a bit too far and they wouldn't close completely. The larger sizes that I use for saltwater didn't have this issue.
  7. I think clear nail polish would work if you want to go that route. I use the Sally Hansen "Hard as Nails" to touch up spinnerbait and buzzbaits heads that get beat up and I apply it often. Although I will admit that beat up, paintless baits get bit as just as much. For what you want to do I would suggest the rattle can option that @Big Bait Fishingmentioned. Cleaner result with less effort. I use the Krylon in the pic below. Regardless of method, I'd like to see your results when done.
  8. Hehe...yeah. I couldn't pass them up for $5.93. Snag them if you find them. I spoke to Bobby just before Thanksgiving and he told me that the 1/8oz has been discontinued due to lack of demand.
  9. Hoping that these might be a good alternative to a Screamin Eagle. They seem just as compact.
  10. I see the Ima skimmer's in your topwater list but maybe add a spook or 3.
  11. Great rods for the price. I have 2 7' M spinning, 2 6'6" M spinning, a 6' M casting and the 7'6" Heavy casting rods. The only rod I haven't used yet is the 7'6" but if it performs like the others then I expect it to be great also. I think you will like it.
  12. Guess it would depend on what you consider finesse cranks. If we are talking 1/8oz, @Bluebasser86told me about these H20 cranks at Academy. I have fished, with great success, the squarebills but haven't fished the deeper version. Both are 1/8oz. http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/h2o-xpress-ultralight-2-crankbait#repChildCatid=581169 http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/h2o-xpress-ultralight-crankbait#repChildCatid=22488
  13. Up here there are still a lot of folks who use them as a saltwater rod. Toss on a mediocre reel and you have something inexpensive and bulletproof so they don't have to worry about if it gets corroded or anything. Whether it's fishing the salt for mackeral, squid, stripers, cod, pollack or flounder, this rod can do it all. Others always seem to have one behind the seat of the truck or trunk of car, as you never know when you might have an opportunity to fish.

Very nice Hootie!! I love the combo
  15. I have been wanting to try the Cavitron's and finding the discontinued 1/8oz on Amazon Canada and on sale was especially surprising. The line I couldn't resist for $6.
  16. As others have said, you can do it either way. My only advice is to use a quality snap.
  17. Gamakatsu split shot/drop shot hooks here as well.
  18. I listen to music quite a bit but not when I am fishing. Like some others have said, I much prefer the peace and quiet of "nature's" sounds when on the water. I will also add that I might be one of the few that really dislikes music in fishing video's on youtube as well. I would much rather hear the full "normal" sounds like the video's made by @A-Jay and @Bluebasser86.
  19. Sure wish I had the willpower to stop buying!!
  20. I am one step away from needing a shrink. Slipped by a local chain store and found a bunch of clearance stuff from $1 - $5. I need help!! I'll use some stuff for saltwater maybe but I can't stop buying stuff. The Yum bags were older stuff and bought 6 of each.
  21. You speak the truth Hootie!! People say that when Robin's first appear is the first sign of spring. We had 5 Robins in our garden Tuesday, then 2 inches of snow Tuesday night and our lakes are still iced over.........
  22. I found an old bottle of Fish Formula in my basement. Wonder if it's still good.
  23. I bought some Bandit 100's last year on clearance for $2.40. I don't recall if they are pre-pradco but I haven't used them yet. Should try them this spring tho.
  24. Thanks for the review. I have used the Pad Crasher Jr. up here for Chain Pickeral. They seem to like them a lot.
