  1. This is going to be a really bad year for them no question.
  2. I have a friend who has tried a few and he claims they taste great. Filleting them correctly to remove the Y bones is the trick from my understanding. I have seen video's of it being done but I haven't tried it.
  3. I think they can be fun to catch and are explosive. Not a native species up here and were introduced illegally. They have spread like wildfire. Last year the daily bag limit was 25 but was increased to 100 this year in the hope to try to make a dent. My theory is that if no one is keeping them to eat then a limit of 1000 wouldn't help. Course it is illegal to just kill them.
  4. It looks like it performs very well indeed. Thank you
  5. Can't tell you how glad I am to hear that it all worked out well. That is great news!!
  6. I have used the Gorilla super glue (it has a brush applicator) before I got my mend-it. It works well enough but soft plastics do get a tiny bit hard but if you "knead" the repaired area with your fingers (after it has dried) it will get softer and feel much better.
  7. I'll use my thumb to add more resistance in general but I will adjust the drag mid-fight from time to time when I hook an unexpected larger species of fish that i was specifically targeting.
  8. for @Bluebasser86 and his Family
  9. I think you made a fine choice in the Bone one-knocker. I don't think the bone will limit you at all. It's a strong color choice when it comes to topwater.
  10. Big Game 8, 10 or 12 lb for me as well.
  11. It would appear that the promo code FLOAT2018 stacks for an additional 15% off. ?
  12. That is a good deal. They have been selling them on their website for over a year now for $99 buy one get one free, so a smidge cheaper if someone needed two rods. Of course your link is a great option for someone needing one rod.
  13. Which lenses are in your Costa's?
  14. Ahhh...no tax. That explains it. Thanks
  15. Dang....how much were the traps? I have 3 110's in the cart and with the code they come to $26.26
  16. Shimano covers here as well. Very easy on and off. I have a few of the Rod (Reel) Glove covers and they seem to work ok. They are thicker neoprene but not as easy to slip on and off as the Shimano covers.
  17. Right under the box that shows your zip code to estimate shipping cost. Click the + sign
  18. I was able to snag 2 Abu Ike 7' medium delay series rods yesterday at a local shop that is getting out of fishing. $139.99 cdn and 70% off. Really sad to see another shop get out of fishing.
  19. "Hot here in Meheco"? I'd like to know how you got to "Meheco" so fast when only just yesterday you had your hands around my neck forcing me to buy all that stuff at the tackle shop!! Starting to think that the @bait__Monkey moves around like Santa Claus.
  20. I recall a thread shortly after they were released that someone had made in regards to the shadow rap cracking on the sides. I have a fished a few and as some others have said, they are very fragile. I had a decent sized chain pickerel really chomp one up last year. It was full of cracks along the sides but still usable. I'll keep fishing them until they are unusable. Doubtful if I will buy more.
  21. Went to a spring gun show and found these. Not real familiar with the wiggle o's and didn't really want the Storm bait but the package price was unresistible.
  22. I have an Shimano Bantam Beastmaster 2-speed baitcaster from the late 80's. Switch from high speed 6.1 to low 4.1.
  23. I have a Goldcast GC-100. Great spincast reel and very solid. The lever you are referring to works the way you described. In the forward position a "clicking" sound can be heard as this is the normal position and does not allow you to back-reel. The level in the back position doesn't produce a clicking sound as this position allows you to "back-reel". The handle will turn in reverse in this position. I have some older G-80's that I have removed the lever and the clicker as I was rarely back-reel and find the clicking annoying.
  24. Just a heads up that Academy has put up a decent amount of baits on "hot buy". H2O Express, Zoom and Gulp to name just 3.
  25. About 95% online for me also. Not much available locally or I would support them.
