  1. My most productive lure all around is a jig. Others that have been good to me: 1/2 oz. Accent spinnerbait 6" finesse worms 10" ribbontail worms 1/2 oz. Rat-L-Traps Chug Bug Rapala DT16 100 & 200 series Bandit cranks Shad Rap 7 Tubes 5" Yum Dingers I believe I could fish almost anywhere, anytime with these lures.
  2. You need to find a hard bottom. Are there any bridges that cross over the creek. If you get to much rain, it will mud up and probally not be worth your time. This time of year in your climate, warmer days will probally produce best. I use finesse worms alot this time of year. Tubes, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits work on the right days.
  3. I let em' fall on slack in all depths. I feel bass prefer a vertical fall and I believe they hold on better with less line tension. I even allow some slack on the pause.
  4. There will be fish in all phases of the spawn in April but most of them will be prespawn or spawning. I prefer to fish for prespawn fish. It really is a good time to fish Ky./Barkley lakes.
  5. I think my questions would evolve from his actions. That is, if he's fishing while in the boat with me. Really, I just don't know but I would be observing his actions closely. I would be interested in seeing how long he spends and goes about disecting what he's looking for. I'd like to know what drew his attention to the area where he's looking for fish. I'd take note of his lure selection and presentation and the conditions. I'd like to see his actions when he finds, don't find, or is checking previously found fish. How he may adjust to conditions or the fish's relativity of structure and/or cover. I would probally have a big brain fart when the day was over!

Not to brag but , YES! A DT16 in July,10-12 ft. deep. Reeled em' in almost as fast as we could on a 5:3:1. Crushed em' for awhile in 2006 this way. Never happened in 2007. :-/
  7. SM and LM totally reak of shad on Ky.Lake, late summer through fall.
  8. Probally partly sunny to mostly rainy. Winds at 1-40 mph. Highs in the upper 70s lows in the upper 40s. As of right now there are no warnings or watches issued.
  9. No Fork? Lake Eygpt in Illinois is a power plant lake. I heard that there was a good bite during the winter there. There's a couple guys on here that fish it. I've heard the jerkbait bite is getting good on Ky. Lake. Soon as the 35 mph wind lays down, I'm gonna go see. Good Luck, CJ
  10. Thanks 4Bizz. I'm glad I didn't buy it. Is the pic you posted a Hud?
  11. Yeah...I know, too many swimbait post but I am looking at ordering a couple tomorrow. One is going to be a Matt Lures Bluegill, I want the other one to be a 6 or 7 " shad type. I saw these Bass Harassers locally at a tackle shop. They look good but has anybody used em'? Anybody got any subjestions for a 6 or 7" shad, slow sinking type? Thanks CJ
  12. Should be a good time to be here. Most likely will be a shallow bite. I'll shoot you a PM.
  13. Never thrown a spinnerbait with a blade like that. I don't get the concept, it looks more like a prop.
  14. If you will start out just using acrylics, you can use a mixture of water and windex to remove the paint as many times as you want. Save up $3.50, go to Wally World and get you a Norman DLN in white. Perfect size to practice and it will have a white base so you won't have to prime it(just make sure you dull it).
  15. Hope you work it out Hawg. In the meantime,Hookem, your brother wants in on this:
  16. Funny, I just wrestled with a bowfin a couple weeks ago at the river. He was probally about 4 lbs. but, with some current on light gear,it was alot of fun.
  17. My entry: Best I can do.Atleast I got the shadows. I'm in for both divisions though I don't see me hurting anybody in the SM div.
  18. I agree with Hester09. I just let all the local crappie guys do the work. And sometimes they mess up a good spot.

Lift em' pretty high off the bottom and let them fall on a slack line.

First off,I'm not selling them.I was just asking for opinions or even better, experience with them. What I see when I look at them is maybe having more control of a t-rig when fishing rocks.I fish 5-20 ft. deep rocky structure, such as ledges. There is a period of time from post-spawn on into summer when dragging is the best presentation.Often, the sinker lodges into the crevises. Looking at the "powder horn" design, makes me wonder.
  21. That is sad. The temp trend caused this?

  23. I was thinking that or he is singing the national anthem with it.
  24. I remember one that ain't to bad: The teacher asked Little Johnny,"Who signed the Declaration of Independance?" Little Johnny yelled,"I DON'T KNOW AND I DON"T CARE!" In shock by Little Johnny's answer she asked again,"Who signed the Declaration of Independance,Little Johnny?" "I DON'T KNOW AND I DON'T CARE!",Little Johnny yelled again. The teacher grabbed Little Johnny by the ear and took him to the office, where they called his Dad in. "Just watch this",Little Johnny's teacher told his Dad."Little Johnny, who signed the Declaration of Independance? "I DON'T KNOW AND I DON'T CARE!"yelled Little Johnny. Little Johnny's dad grabs Little Johnny, smacks him upside his head and slams him up against the wall and says,"Boy if you signed that thing you better tell me now!"
